When Trump has an interview people listen and his recent one with Tucker Carlson was no different.
We are not throwing stones here, we are just giving you the information. The big deal on Twitter is that Trump would not hit Newsom because ‘he said the greatest things’. Trump has been known to praise people who are not the best if they say nice things about him. This of course does not negate or put a damper on any of the positive things Trump did while in office.

TUCKER: "Wait, you got along with Gavin Newsom?!"
TRUMP: "He was always very nice to me. He said the greatest things."

There was a section of conservative Twitter who were not happy with the comments and they made it known they see this as a flaw for former President Trump.

You guys get to make your own choices, but there does seem to be a double standard on what is acceptable for each camp in the GOP.

This editor has never been shy about defending Trump or pointing out any issues he has had, maybe his blind spots when he praises certain people could be tweaked. He has been known to choose Stacey Abrams and now Newsom over others and it is worth looking at possible flaws in ANY candidate. Trump should not be exempt from scrutiny.

We can only report what we can see, so if there were parts left out we do not know of them, but some further explanation from Trump would be helpful to those who were not too happy about the comments.

Many had some decent points on how they expect leaders to behave. Is getting along with people across the aisle a bad thing?
We think the nastiness inside of politics and the polarization between the Left and the Right makes it difficult to meet in the middle. There are times to compromise and times when it would be foolish.
Recently it seems the only people who compromise are those on the Right and the Left keep moving further and further Left with no meeting in the middle. That is why many think this line of thought is no longer viable.

It is important as a leader to have relationships with people you do not like or agree with in order to make progress. That can not be denied but as we stated above, the trick is to know when it is working and when it is one-sided.

Everything all of the people in this article said is true, Trump did some great things and some bad things, and this editor freely admits both. You get to decide what you think about the interview based on Trump’s record because here at Twitchy we appreciate FREE thinking and we are fine when others do not agree with us.
We love both Trump and DeSantis camps here. We welcome you all to read us as often as possible. We hope that once this is all over we can all support the nominee. Even if you have to hold your nose to do it, especially given that one of those people is not even in the race yet! 🙂
