Rep. Katie Porter (D-CA) equates the use of the word groomer as anti-LGBTQ and it is infuriating

Katie Porter is trying to make GROOMER a bad word and like many of you, I am pretty upset about it. Some of you may not know me very well yet as I have only been writing for Twitchy for a few months, and while it feels a bit weird that this is your first introduction to me on a one-on-one personal level, I feel like it is important that we all talk about this undercurrent on the Left to try and make the word GROOMER unusable. They are literally trying to make it the new N-word.

People like Katie Porter (seen below) are working very hard to equate pointing out an actual criminal offense and evil activities like GROOMING children as being anti-LGBTQ.

It is not.

Watch:

Here is where we get personal. I have to tell you this is so hard to share, but I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I WAS groomed. This is why I find it so dangerous for people like Porter to try and prevent us from talking about it. Groomers use head games, they confuse us, and most of us never speak about it, we hide it, and we try to convince ourselves it never happened or that we just dreamt it. Some of us are so young our memories are messed up which adds to our unwillingness to talk about it. They use secrecy to control our bodies and minds way beyond the abuse.

I was in my 30s before I ever spoke of it. I repressed memories. Even now, I feel like it is wrong in some way to be talking about it; groomers make us feel this way and the Left is also trying to add a layer by making the term unspeakable.

Grooming is NOT specific to the LGBTQ community. It covers all people. We need to look out for it and call it out when we see it. People shouldn’t be calling random people groomers because it lessens the term and when actual groomers are caught and pointed out, it makes it not as impactful to make a change. If a person (no matter the sexual orientation) is talking to small children about adult acts/items in order to introduce them to sex acts or expose them to anything sexual other than basic terms for their bodies WE MUST CALL IT OUT and the name we should use is groomer or pedophile.

We cannot let MAP (Minor attracted person) become a thing.

We can not allow the terms they must be called to be turned into bad words.

So Twitchy readers, if you see these things happening, no matter who it is from, please call it out and call it by its name. I am quite conflicted about this being our first personal interaction but I do think it was necessary.

Thank you for your support. Keep shining your bright light into the dark places my friends.
