Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) is a very real thing. There are people who absolutely lose their mind at the mere mention of Donald Trump and people who let Trump live rent-free in their heads to the point every conversation devolves into mentioning Trump at least once to 'prove' a point (looking at you, John Fugelsang).
Part of the problem is that the Democratic Party and their Leftist base have convinced themselves, without any evidence (and evidence to the contrary) that Trump is a unique and singular threat to everything from democracy to abortion to gay rights to minorities.
It's unhinge lunacy.
But this messaging has so pervasive and effective it's driven two people to try assassinating Trump, and the Left keeps doubling down on it.
Aside from putting Trump in harm's way (which is what they want), they're also subjecting their base to unwarranted fear and anxiety over Trump.

To the point where at least one Leftist is threatening to commit suicide if Trump is elected.
Ok, I think we have reached peak TDS. pic.twitter.com/v0MvcoWYcR

It's real, too.
Yes, it’s a real article at least: https://t.co/XJO2N6ji7d

I make a living wading into and commenting on politics. I find the discussions interesting (sometimes maddening), and it is an important part of civic life.
I also know it's not the only part of life and I abhor the politicization of every single aspect of our world: from food to music to television to movies.
Sometimes, I just want a movie about massive tornadoes to be a fun summer popcorn movie and not a lecture on global warming. But the Left insists on making everything about The Message, a catch-all term for their agenda (be it climate change, trans issues, abortion, race, etc).
Politics -- evasive politics -- have become poisonous.
The anonymous poster believes Kamala Harris' lies that not only will Donald Trump implement Project 2025 (he's repeatedly said he won't), but that it poses an unique threat to their 'queer' identity.
I remember when Trump was elected in 2016, the Left said VP Mike Pence would round up the gays and put them in camps.
That did not happen.
Gay marriage was not overturned.
None of their fear-mongering came true. And I say this as someone who believed Trump would betray us on gun control and other conservative issues (and that's why I opposed him in 2016).
Maybe the poster is being dramatic for attention or effect. Maybe he's trying to 'make a point' about how scared people are about Trump. But maybe not.
What a sad state of affairs to think your only solution to a Trump presidency is suicide. I certainly hope it's hyperbole.
Who is the one stirring that fear in them? It's not Trump, and it's not Trump supporters.
It's the Democrats and the media, both of whom continue to paint Trump as a dictator who will rule for life if elected. They ignore the fact Trump left office in 2021 after losing the presidential election that took place in 2020. I've been around enough to know that real dictators hellbent on maintaining their power don't hand over the keys to the presidential house willingly.
Rather, they keep abusing their voters. They tell women they'll be denied care for a miscarriage/ectopic pregnancy, and they tell their gay supporters Trump will put them in camps. They do this so when their base suffer mentally, emotionally, and physically from those lies, they can use the suffering for political gain.
It's ghoulish.
If TDS is a communicable disease, the Left are the political version of Typhoid Mary. Like Mary, they refuse to stop spreading the 'disease' of TDS. May voters quarantine them in November.
