Author Dylan Evans tweets about 'final solution', things immediately go horribly wrong for him

Are we the baddies meme

I am no proponent of cancel culture. The Left's incessant need to dredge up old, often innocuous, things said and did by others in an attempt to destroy their present-day lives is the behavior of fascists, the tactic of bullies, of those who cannot and will not engage in actual debate about political and social issues.

Getting someone canceled, in the religion of Leftism, an indulgence. A way to gain favor with the gods of secular progressivism and signal one's virtue to the world. For the victims of cancel culture, there is no mercy, no forgiveness, no reconciliation: you are banished for your sin of wrongthink. Even if it happened a decade ago, even if you've changed, even if what the Left accused you of is a bold-faced lie.

Yet, this week has shown just how far the Left thinks they can go in sputtering their unfiltered hatred for Israel, and Jews, without facing any repercussions or being held to the rules they force on everyone else.

To wit, when students at Harvard decided to sign their name to a statement condemning Israel as being 'entirely responsible for all unfolding violence', not expecting backlash. They are, after all, attended the supposed most elite university in America, they have to be morally and intellectually superior?

But the backlash came, and hard:

After the statement, CEOs called for a list of names of the students who signed it:

This, it seems, is finally the line in the sand.

I have watched in horror as stories of raped and kidnapped Israeli women, murdered infants and toddlers, and reports of entire families killed or missing have flooded the news. I am not Jewish; but I don't have to be to know what is happening -- and those cheering it on -- are morally reprehensible, and there are just some things that are beyond the pale of civil discourse.

Enter Dylan Evans, an author and researcher, who sent out this tweet Thursday:

Now, we can't link to the tweet because Dylan nuked his entire account.

It's not just about Israel, but we all know that.

Noam also pointed out that Evans is an author with HarperCollins:

Evans was fairly sure his colleagues and employer wouldn't care because they agree with him:

And yes, I decided to test that theory:

Less than an hour later, Evans' account was deleted.

Yes it is, which is why he had to be held accountable. It's the same reason the students at Harvard need to be held accountable: there are just some views that cannot simply be debated away. Advocating for the extermination of Jews (or any people) is one of them.

It is. He truly believed no one would care, otherwise he would not have tweeted what he did.

No they cannot. Because the Left never believes their rules will apply to them.

When you shine a light on them, they flee.

I am one person, in Wisconsin. There is literally nothing I can do to change what is happening in Israel. I can't stop the violence, I can't bring back those lost, and I can't heal the hurt so many Jews are feeling. But what I do have is a computer and an Internet connection, and the ability to shine a light on people who think it's okay to praise the 'final solution'. And I plan to do just that, as Dylan Evans now knows.
