Weiner repeats silly claim that he coined the term 'Obamacare' (also he tweets like a teenage girl)

Serial TwitterPerv and New York mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner is back on the Twitters and in rare form. Today he’s repeating his earlier claim that he coined the term “Obamacare,” and since he also says that the program is going to make Americans’ lives better, it’s two lies for the price of one!

The New York Times article he tweeted, which claimed that New Yorkers’ premiums would fall by as much as 50%, was taken down hard by Avik Roy at National Review Online.

As for the claim about coining “Obamacare,” Weiner was far from the first person ever to use the term, and he had to walk back that claim last month. Of course, the term was coined by opponents of the proposal, and Weiner was merely among the first leftists to adopt it as his own.  So, somewhere in the back of Weiner-mind, to “coin” a term means something other than to “invent” it.

Granted, given what we know about what else comes out of his brain, we probably shouldn’t be surprised that he wants to rewrite the English language.

Also, can we just point out that a man who wants to lead America’s largest city just used “Ya know” and “Hehe” in a tweet? Seriously?

A lot of the Twitter reaction is about what you would expect.

In conclusion, can we note that, if this man is elected, we will have to do posts like this for the rest of his term. Spare us, New York voters! Please!
