Anyone who as ever lived within 100 miles of Denver should know that, in Colorado, this is one step shy of getting an endorsement from God.
Election's over. Romney has the John Elway endorsement.

At Romney rally in Denver (1st congressional district) directly behind the lectern/podium. John elway two seats to my right. Wow.

I'm a Raiders fan and even I think this is a good thing RT @Drudge_Siren: DENVER BRONCOS John Elway Endorses Romney http://t.co/kYDhtO0v

Paul Begala, however, was not impressed.
Is this the @TheOnion or did John Elway really show up at Romney event in a Bentley? Why not just ride up on Rafalca & snort caviar?
— Paul Begala (@PaulBegala) October 2, 2012
Really? It’s John Elway, former NFL superstar, head of an NFL franchise, source of pride for an entire state, and all-around local demigod. Why wouldn’t he have a Bentley?!

Another group of people seemed to seriously think Elway would be an electoral liability in the key state of Ohio, thanks to lingering memories of his last-second heroics against the Cleveland Browns in 1987.

I expect Obama's Ohio team to have some fun with the Elway endorsement. #Browns

Of course, Cleveland is probably already a lost cause for Romney. The other half of Ohio is Bengals country. Bengals fans loathe the Browns; they should be loving this almost as much as Denver is.
