Terrorists Attack Joe Biden's Temporary Pier to Bring Aid to Palestinians

Twitchy

When the Biden administration suggested building a temporary pier so that ships could offload critical humanitarian aid to the Palestinians, I thought it was a bad idea, putting U.S. troops in a war zone. But President Biden insisted there would be no "boots on the ground" in Gaza. The military was going to build the whole thing offshore and then push it into place, never touching the soil.

I didn't know what was going to stop Hamas from taking control of the pier and confiscating all of the aid. Was the IDF expected to guard it?

Building a pier means that this war has gone on far longer than Biden is comfortable with, and since Israel has rebuffed his requests that they "tone it down," Biden has realized he has to play both sides.

As far as putting U.S. military personnel in a war zone, here you go: terrorists have fired mortar shells at it already.

The mortar attack occurred as United Nations officials were touring the site with Israeli troops on the coast of central Gaza, the IDF says in response to a query on the incident.

The IDF says the UN officials were rushed to a shelter by troops amid the attack.

A Hamas official told The Associated Press on Wednesday that the militant group will resist any foreign military presence involved with the port project.

Who came up with the idea to build a temporary pier that was guaranteed to be attacked?

American troops shouldn't be anywhere near Gaza. But I guess Biden needs those votes in Dearborn. Look, he's sending aid to Israel and to the Palestinians, because there are good people on both sides. Biden told reporters yesterday that he condemned the antisemitic protests on American campuses, but he also condemned "those who don’t understand what’s going on with the Palestinians." I understand the Palestinians were dancing in the streets on October 7.

This was such a bad idea. Someone's going to get killed.
