It should come as no shock to anyone that Garry Kasparov’s pre-emptive assessment of John Kerry’s Middle East peace speech was spot-on.

And yet, even though we expected the worst from Secretary Kerry, there’s something about this remark that manages to appall us still:

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called out Kerry in his response:

Netanyahu’s comments were certainly far more diplomatic than Kerry deserved. Fortunately, tweeters didn’t have to exercise that kind of restraint:

We’re not sure, but we do know this: His disgraceful term as our secretary of state can’t end soon enough.
