Elon Musk definitely has some pretty lofty goals for Twitter. This might be one of the loftiest:
Twitter needs to become by far the most accurate source of information about the world. That’s our mission.
— Elon Musk (@elonmusk) November 7, 2022
Not gonna lie, it’d be pretty sweet to watch the legacy media get buried even deeper than they already are. No idea how likely it is to happen like this, though.
For what it’s worth, Kyle Grantham, digital media manager for the New Castle County Government in Delaware, doesn’t sound like he thinks much of Musk’s goal:
And to do this, I’ll let anyone to gives me money appear to be a legitimate source of news, rather than just ensuring all legitimate sources of news are confirmed to be who they say they are https://t.co/otFWaWJTxt
— 𝐊𝐲𝐥𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐦 (@kylegrantham) November 7, 2022
And for what it’s worth, Elon Musk doesn’t sound like he thinks much of Kyle Grantham:
You represent the problem: journalists who think they are the only source of legitimate information. That’s the big lie.

And, for what it’s worth, this guy, Chris D. Jackson — who, on his website, boasts that he was an early endorser of President Joe Biden and was chosen by the Biden campaign to serve on the DNC Policy Platform Committee — doesn’t sound like he thinks much of either Elon Musk or of Americans who aren’t smug elitist members of the MSM:
So basically Elon thinks Bubba's opinion is just as valid as a credentialed journalist.

Bubba can just go f**k himself in his double-wide. Ain’t that right, Chris?
This tweet is remarkable for its revelatory value. https://t.co/YHiKoclYlL

It really does say the quiet part — which honestly isn’t all that quiet these days — out loud. Deafeningly loud.
Elitist politician values elitist, bubble-dwelling "journalists" over hard-working Americans he condescendingly refers to as "bubba." See our shocked faces. 🙄
— NewsieOne (@NewsieOne) November 7, 2022
At least they’ve stopped trying to hide it.
If you think Bubba is inferior to anyone else, let alone a *journalist* of all people, you're missing the point of life.
— Jon Gabriel (@exjon) November 7, 2022
Translation: if you aren’t with a legacy media outlet, you aren’t a “legitimate journalist,” even though those very people lied to Americans about COVID, the Russia hoax, Hunter’s laptop, etc etc etc
— Beth Baumann (@eb454) November 7, 2022
Is Bubba's opinion wrongthink, Chris? Should Bubba's opinion be censored?
— Aldous Huxley's Ghost™ (@AF632) November 7, 2022
That seems to be what Chris wants. At least as long as Bubba votes Republican.
The credentialed journalists who’ve been working with the government to suppress information? Yea I’ll trust bubba
— Mostly Peaceful Memes (@MostlyPeacefull) November 7, 2022
Based on what we’ve seen from the average “credentialed journalist,” we’re inclined to choose Bubba, too. At least Bubba has some self-awareness and doesn’t look down his nose at most of the country.
And there you go. The truth of the matter.
Yes, Chris. My opinion is as valid as yours. This is not a religious hierarchy and you are not the priestly class. https://t.co/7ekjRmlbKW— Whig Wants His $8 (@RandomWhig) November 7, 2022
Come down off that high horse, Chris, before you slip and fall.
