Sen. Dianne Feinstein is in the throes of her very own Spartacus moment, releasing a statement saying that she’s forwarded a letter “concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh” to “federal investigative authorities.” What Kavanaugh supposedly did is unclear. What, if anything, it has to do with his nomination is unclear. But that doesn’t matter to Feinstein and the Democrats.
“I sent Kavanaugh’s <unknown actions> against <unknown person> of <unknown credibility> at <unknown time> to the FBI.”

It’s completely obvious why they’re doing this. What’s not entirely obvious, however, is why Dianne Feinstein seems to think she’s in any position to be leading the charge on this.
