Senators McCain, Graham and Ayotte met with lying liar who lies, U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice, today.

Evidently, the answers Ms. Rice provided to them regarding what happened in Benghazi were true to form: Incompetence at best, lies at worst.

Not even close to getting answers to basic questions. What a surprise! But, wait. It’s Graham, so … squish alert? So far, he won’t rule out a vote to confirm Rice for Secretary of State.

Or will he?

Hmm.

And from the Left? Good, old sexism and race card playing, natch.

Disgusting.

Yep. Americans demand answers, not more lies and incompetence.

Twitchy will continue to update with further developments.

Update:

Predictably, Lefties are continuing to bash Kelly Ayotte as a gender-traitor for having the temerity to question Susan Rice’s integrity and competence.

We know she is incompetent. Let’s hope the Republicans have the balls to call her on it. Something tells me they won’t

    • SineWaveII

I say let him have her. She’s just another democrat incompetent, and it’s not like Hillary is some kind of freaking genius. Let her go out and ignite another foreign policy firestorm and watch the lap-dogs in the media try to cover it up, it’ll be entertaining. And it’s not like King Putt is going to nominate anyone honest or competent anyway.

      • Elaine

Liberals keep saying it’s “Republicans” and “Fox” only making a big deal out of NOTHING? Seriously? If we had a real MEDIA they would be asking the same questions. Maybe if it were a Republican administration this would be a big deal? Kind of like Fast & Furious or so many other Obama scandals swept under the rug? So frustrating!

        • Kate

At some point, an situation will arise that even the MSM won’t be able to cover up.

I just hope and pray that more American lives aren’t lost in the process.

        • EEKman

Seriously who do you have to kill to get an Obama scandal going? How can you impeach without a valid reason. Seriously. You don’t expect the GOP to actually develop a positive platform do you?

Its cute how you guys think you can criticize Obamas foreign policy or Susan rice yet you have no credible foreign policy position in your platform nor any comparible SoS candidate. The only one you have left is McCain and he’s been off his rocker for a few years now.

      • papertiger0

ummmm. Moron? The SoS serves at the discretion of the President. He nominates candidates for that position, not Republican Senators.
So asking why there are no GOP candidates for the Secretary of State is just stupid.

        Adjust your drool cup, doofus.

      • SpinMeNot

So, unequivocal support for Israel is not a credible foreign policy position? As opposed to appeasing state sponsored terrorism (I’m paraphrasing the DNC platform). Allowing Iran to get atomic (both Uranium and now apparently plutonium based) weapons?

Reversing the nuclear and conventional disarmament of the US while Russia, China, and the aforementioned Iran beef up their warfighting capabilities is not a credible foreign policy position?

Stop spending money we don’t have, mortgaging this country to the hilt to China is not a credible foreign policy position?

Just when I thought a liberal progressive puke couldn’t string together something more stupid than “You don’t like Susan Rice because she’s black”, the universe proves me wrong. What exactly is Obama’s workable foreign policy …

Al Qaeda is on the run … not so much

I’ll talk to them, and they’ll stop this terrorist nonsense … not so much

I’ll not help the Green Revolution in Iran, but I’ll help get rid of Mubarak … hasn’t really worked out.

I’ll help free Libya … meh, it was only 4 people, just a bump in the road

I’ll take credit for Bin Laden, and give up the operational details of the raid so that a few week later 30 our finest black-side warriors are drawn into a trap and killed.

And my favorite … “Please tell Vladimir I’ll be more flexible after the election.”

        Idiot.

  • WisconsinPatriot

I am really not sure if I even have faith that the repubs will work this. This is a target rich scenario which could lead to POTUS. Lets all hold our breath(not).

  • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

I guess no one in the WH realized she will be questioned before, during and after her confirmation hearing. They’re just crying racism, sexism, feminism and every other whiny-ism they can think of since it’s a democrat appointment.

    • SineWaveII

heh that’s what it really is “democratism”

    • SineWaveII

    • joanc

They are also using the race card– again and again. Maybe, that’s why they sent her to the TV interviews, knowing any criticism could be met by pulling that “good old ever ready card’ enabling them to throw the blame on others, and take the heat off themselves.

    • conservativechick

What happened to Diane Feinstein? She was so appalled and wanted answers in the beginning. Where did she go?

If McCain and Graham support Susan Rice as Sec of State, reservations or not, they are chumps… and it’ll be just more business as usual in the hole DC has become. Please tell me they’ll do all they can to block her.

  • http://recycledsip.blogspot.com/ ClydeS

Sadly, given the regime’s track record, even if Rice is blocked, they’ll find someone equally mendacious and incompetent (but no doubt affirmative action hire) to do the job. We’re screwed no matter what.

Graham, Ayote, and McCain need to start reminding the US Senate and America that Rice was Clinton’s policy adviser when Sudan offered to help US go after al Qaeda and capture bin Laden and Rice and then-terrorism adviser Richard Clarke advised Clinton not to do it. Wonder how differently the cool, crisp morning of 9/11/01 would have turned out if she hadn’t have been there to advise that course of action? This woman has incompetence and disconnect written all over her and is about to get a crack at ruining what’s left of America’s legitimacy around the world. Very, very disturbing.

    • sb36695

    Memo to Graham and Ayotte:

Just hold a presser and say flat out that Ms. Rice has been LYING THROUGH HER TEETH! Then walk away.

The press and everyone else is going to attack you anyway, no matter what.

Drop the bombshell first. Apologize later!

At one time there was a segment of American society that thought just because a person was of a certain race they were incompetent. Now we have a segment (the left, demorats and the media) that assumes any question of competence is out of bounds if a person is of a certain race.

We have gone from the concept of disqualify due to race, to automatically competent and qualified due to race.

    Jumped the shark.

    • WORSEKarma

Don’t forget “political affiliation”, SunnyPerson. Remember, these are the same fine folks who referred to Alan West, Herman Cain, Condi Rice, Mia Love, etc. as “Porch N***ers”…

Why is the assumption that they’re going to support her for the nomination?
    They’re not dumb.

It’s the liberal media’s spin on it.
Go ask Andrea Mitchell. She thinks their agreeing to meet with Rice today equals endorsement. What?

    • disappearing moderate

I don’t believe they will end up backing off and supporting Rice, either. This was definitely a tactic to portray Rice as “forthcoming and courageous” in the face of racist, sexist, grumpy old men Republican criticism. Naturally Andrea is in the forefront of the administration propagandists who want the public to lose heart and move along.

All people want answers. What some are against is the selective string em up mode. Graham at least broadened his headhunting to include James Clapper and john Brennan.

  • ratizbad

Just head to the Ghetto house in DC. All the answers and corruption are stored or destroyed there.I hope that is not racist since I’m a cracker,White or Caucasian?

ya can we just move forward to the part where politicians etc.. would face actual legal consequences for violating our constitutional rights and forget about all these other issues for a little while ….I think a lot of these issues will all straighten themselves out once we do that…

I have no faith in my party or our system of government anymore. This Admin has gotten away with so much for so long and although some try (like Darrell Issa) – nothing brings them down. I really cannot understand how this continues to happen.

  • GEORGE_W_TUSH

They had no problem getting behind Condi Rice, who had told Americans that there were “mushroom clouds” and “WMDs” in Iraq. Johnny Mc called Condi Rice a “great American success story” and called Susan Rice “not very bright”.

Its clear they are doing this for no other reason than because of lingering bitterness at the outcome of the elections,” Johnny Mc said in 2005 about Condi Rice. The same could be said about Johnny Mc and his fellow Republicans concerning Susan Rice today.

I wish Susan Rice would just blame this whole thing on Saddam Hussein so John McCain could feel safe again

    • http://www.facebook.com/lisa.dean.564 Lisa Dean

For the love of candy canes ~ please read some political history before you start with this “lingering bitterness”, Condi Rice lied, Poor Susan Rice can’t think for herself BS. Objectively, if you’re capable of being objective, look at the confirmation hearings of any Republican nomination and see how they’re treated by Democrats. Especially since it seemed Teddy Kennedy was on every confirmation board known to man and we all know how much of a saint he was. You’re just all shriveled up because Benghazi isn’t being forgotten with a slap on the back and a wink and a nod. “Oh don’t worry, we’ll do better next time when it comes to embassy protection”.

  • irishgirl91

We need to forge ahead because the cause is just. I wish we could make McCain and Graham see that they are already racist in the minds of those that would call them that if they proceed, they can’t change that . How many knew the implications of the Watergate operation? We need the investigation even though we will be called every name in the book because we know something is wrong, something big is there.

  • http://twitter.com/Xianworldview Larry Waddell

Graham and McCain grow a spine? Bwa ha ha ha ha. They are as squishy as a RINO can be.

Just be patient boys and girls. Like any super-inflated ball of intestinal gas it will pass, and when it does there will be a mess in Washington the likes none has ever seen; a necessary national phase we must endure. After the dust settles the Democrats will have to re-invent themselves, or go out of business.

  • disappearing moderate

Any school child whose parents allowed them to watch TV knew by the following morning that this was a well planned terrorist attack. Rice is only a small part of the cover up however, parroting the administration Newspeak to which we’ve all become accustomed. The bigger questions are why were the Ambassador and a sizable CIA contingent in Benghazi on 9-11? Why was security downsized even as requests for increased security were ignored? If BHO gave the order to do everything possible to protect consulate personnel, where is the proof? If that order was given, was it ignored or were response teams told to stand down? What about those rescued? Why are they not being questioned by congressional or senate committees? I realize their mission was undoubtedly “sensitive”, but that’s why there are closed door hearings. Rice is only a convenient distraction for the administration because any common sense questioning of her statements lead to the inevitable charges of racism, sexism and partisanship.

  • sb36695

They must have just noticed the enemy within.

  • domremy03

She’ll get the Secretary of State spot, Obama will continue to get whatever he wants, the Republican party will evaporate in the next few elections and the country will go down the tubes quicker than anyone could possibly have imagined. Sadly, I think this is true.

  • Justin Case

I voted for some Democrats once upon a time. But I caught on that they were just playing me. The whole We’re all in it together BS. When are you guys going to figure out that the Republicans are playing you too? You know the whole small efficient economic government and strong national defense BS.

BTW never mind Rice – what about Carney? He was pushing the same story from the White House Press Briefing Room even before Rice was on the Sunday shows – who’s talking points was he reading from? In theory isn’t he speaking directly for the President?

  • Thucydides_of_Athens

Just keep pressing for answers, and publicizing them as they come out. With any luck, Benghazi will become this administrations Watergate, and America can have the satisfaction of watching another crook forced to resign in disgrace.
