He still doesn’t think the phony photo — former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sitting on Santa’s lap — was sexist, but he says he will change it because it is fake and because some people are offended:

RedState editors defend phony Sarah Palin photo, lash out at critics; Update: Still lashing out

  • CatHerder

    “I’m sorry…that I got caught.”

    • LinTaylor

One of my favorite lines from Rihanna’s song Take a Bow: “Don’t tell me you’re sorry ‘cuz you’re not/’Cuz you know you’re only sorry you got caught.”

    • BenInNY

Nah, Ben is a better guy than that, knows he reacted shittily.

      • CatHerder

Maybe so, but instead of lashing out next time it might be better to check his facts first. Saves a lot of emotional wear and tear.

        • BenInNY

Yeah I agree there. Him, an hour ago: “I said after my last twitter blow-up that I was going to cool down on my twitter fisticuffs. Will try harder this time.”

        • BenInNY

Holy crap. I’ve been seeing posts from you on here all day and only just now realized you’re name isn’t a play on “catheter.” Whoops :)

          • CatHerder

Heh, no, my lady accuses me-with some justice-of being too obsessed with organizing things. It’s like herding cats around here imo.

          • BenInNY

If you’re ever in NY and need to do some organizing my place is in dire need.

          • Caleb Herod

And all this time I thought you were commanding us to be ninnies! :)

          • BenInNY

Bahahaha Had Scott from The Blaze pronounce it something like Bimini one day too.

      • gary4205

No, Ben is NOT a “better man than that” What he did, being a nasty SOB, especially when it comes to hating Sarah Palin and her supporters, is standard operating procedure for him.

        • willicaroline

And Red State wonders where it’s readers and supporters are going. Good luck getting Ted Cruz (one of Sarah’s biggest supporters) to show up at their convention in August. Lefties never drop a dime on their people. Never. Only conservatives feel fine about screwing themselves.

          • Finrod Felagund

Yeah, Ted Cruz is going to welsh on the group that was one of the very first to support him, in June 2011. You must be smoking the prescription stuff.

          • gary4205

Funny, other than us grass roots workers in Texas, no one knew who Ted Cruz was until Sarah Palin endorsed him, and according to Cruz himself, the money and support came pouring in. He was running 4th in a 4 way race and going nowhere.

All Palin had to do was put her seal of approval on him and he was good enough to get into a run-off with Dew-Wrong the powerful, well connected, well financed Lt Governor.

THEN Palin comes to the Woodlands and packs the joint with enthusiastic supporters and Cruz mops the floor with Dew-boy!

If you notice, Ted Cruz NEVER misses a chance to thank Governor Palin long and loud, and has said he would NOT be in the Senate without her.

RedState’s endorsement is worth less than a warm bucket of spit!

          • Finrod Felagund

Myself and other people on RedState knew who Ted Cruz was, and as soon as Michael Williams (who is made of awesome) decided he was going to run for a new House seat instead of for the Senate, we knew that Ted Cruz was far and away the best Republican running.

If you weren’t supporting Ted Cruz before the beginning of June 2011, then RedState beat you to it.

          • willicaroline

And Michael Williams is definitely made of 1000% Awesome! Hope to move back home just so I can vote for him someday. . . .

          • Finrod Felagund

I saw both Michael Williams and Nikki Haley speak in August 2010, back when Williams was Texas Railroad Commissioner and Haley was just a member of the South Carolina statehouse. I’m hoping that Michael Williams runs for Governor of Texas after Perry leaves office, and then for President after that.

          • willicaroline

He would certainly have my support, as did Nikki Haley when she ran for governor. I no longer support the Republican Party; just individual races with candidates that represent what I believe in. Both are outstanding representatives for common sense conservatism. . . .

          • http://redstate.com/ midwestconservative

Greg Abbot is running for Governor if Perry retires, and he already has a large War chest, maybe Michael will run for Senate against Cornyn.

          • willicaroline

            What Gary said.. . . .

    • http://www.mrltavern.com/ Mr.L

      Exactly.

    • disqus_eric

“I’m sorry…that I got caught.” –> This makes him sound like part of Obama’s cabinet.

  • https://twitter.com/SmileyRoffle Smiley

Here endeth the lesson, eh Howie?

How about you and Erickson apologize for RedState being completely inane, elitist and obnoxious in general.

    • Finrod Felagund

      Sore winner.

      • https://twitter.com/SmileyRoffle Smiley

Nah. Nobody “wins” when it comes to RedState.

There are those of us, though, that will admit some schadenfreude over watching RedState’s antics backfire badly this time around.

        • Finrod Felagund

I’m sure they care a lot about your opinion.

          • tm11999

ya know, you are exactly right, they don’t care about us out here, they have proven themselves to be elitist mouthpieces for the status-quo and the karl rovian species, see ya rinos!!!!!!

    • http://redstate.com/ midwestconservative

Or perhaps you can stop acting like Palin is God and unworthy of any and all criticism.

      • mentalgravity

Nobody thinks she’s unworthy of criticism. But we, the honest, do take issue with dishonest attacks, ones made that are based on falsehood, not truth. Nobody’s perfect. But, since you can’t find anything real to say or to be critical of, you make it up, de-contextualize it, or flat out just spew hatred and venom.

        • http://redstate.com/ midwestconservative

          Where’s my “hatred and venom”

          • thetreyman

i thank that was a “you” in general not a “you” specifically. but you knew that.

          • http://redstate.com/ midwestconservative

I thought he was talking to me specifically.

          • Finrod Felagund

They can’t tell the difference between criticism of any kind, even the constructive kind, and “hatred and venom”.

  • LinTaylor

Like I said back in the original post, anyone with eyeballs could tell that photo was altered because there were too many elements that didn’t match up. It’s good that Howe apologized, but he shouldn’t have made the mistake in the first place.

  • mike_in_kosovo

Good for him to admit he was wrong about the pic and for attacking people.

    • Finrod Felagund

      Indeed.

      • daeghrefn

But of course earlier you would’ve said no apology is necessary.

        • Finrod Felagund

Interesting that you think you know what’s in my mind better than I do.

          • daeghrefn

Oh, it doesn’t take psychic powers. Now, I didn’t read that other thread in its entirety: did you ever suggest that RS has anything for which they should apologize in this Palin thing? Or was it a case of, say, overzealousness on the part of unhinged Palin-worshipers?

          • Finrod Felagund

I didn’t address it one way or the other.

          • daeghrefn

Yeah, I see that now that I read them. Just another passive-aggressive anal-retentive type. As much a waste of energy as patrolling RedState. Have fun.

A groundhog knows what’s in your mind better than you do.

          • Finrod Felagund

If that’s the best riposte you have, I’ve got nothing to worry about.

          • Joe W.

Oh, don’t worry, Pinrod, it’s not. But you aren’t important enough for my best. You are simply a misguided semi-conservative. Not the sort I need to spar with.

          • Finrod Felagund

Actually, I consider myself a mix of conservative, libertarian, and Federalist. But thanks for playing, here, have some lovely parting gifts.

          • Joe W.

And for you, we have the “home version” of Twitchy. Now go play with yourself.

          • Finrod Felagund

            Don’t need to, I have a girlfriend.

          • gary4205

I hope you have a patch kit for when “she” springs a leak!

But of course earlier you would’ve said no apology is necessary.

  • Right_Wingnut

Good of him to apologize, but I really wish they would change the bully mentality that exists at RS. Not so much this stuff, but the tone that exists in the comment sections toward people who disagree with whatever they may be selling on a particular day. I fully understand the need to moderate, but I have to think many casual readers are extremely turned off by their style. They could have so much more traffic, because much of the content is actually pretty good. But it’s their site……..

    • Joe W.

He apologized like a liberal. Instead of sincerely apologizing, he just HAD to qualify the apology. Those folks at Red State are losers, IMHO.

      • Right_Wingnut

Maybe so, but at this point, it’s probably time to move on.

        • Joe W.

Oh, I have already moved on from Red State after they banned me for disagreeing with them during the Palin kerfuffle. I am simply responding to your post, my friend. I assume that’s why you posted??

          • Right_Wingnut

I wasn’t referring to you, my friend. It just seems as though not much can be gained by continuing this discussion much longer. Everything that can be said has been said. Of course we won’t forget about it.

          • Joe W.

No problem. I’m just a wee bit testy these days….Have a great evening. Fireworks??

          • Finrod Felagund

            Sour grapes. Got it.

          • Joe W.

            Whatever you say, Pinrod.

          • Finrod Felagund

            How imaginative of you.

          • Finrod Felagund

            How imaginative of you.

          • Jill

Sour grapes? In this context, your derisive tone makes no sense. Joe was stating his opinion. You are pontificating and failing quite miserably. Have you nothing germane to say?

          • Finrod Felagund

You must’ve not read the other thread on this subject.

          • Finrod Felagund

    • AaronHarrisinAlaska

Same could be said of twitchy. I post anything counter to what’s being said and I’m suddenly a “libetard” for it.

      • Finrod Felagund

Heh. Right there with you, just look at the cretins calling me everything but a white man in the previous thread on this topic.

        • Johnny Banco

I like the whinefest you 2 are having! :)

          • rinodino

The truth hurts the fringe doesn’t it? Can’t whitewash it…. You eat your own more than primitive animals, that’s why you guys lose more than you win

          • Finrod Felagund

            You’re just a troll.

          • Joe W.

And what would you call yourself, Nimrod??

          • gary4205

            Beat me to it! Lol

          • Finrod Felagund

Gee, that’s the first time I heard that one before.

          • mike_in_kosovo

that’s why you guys lose more than you win

Picking up seats and governorships is ‘losing’? Sure thing, skippy.

          • Finrod Felagund

No kidding. Neither party has had the Presidency for more than three terms since FDR and Harry Truman.

          • mike_in_kosovo

Since the 2008 elections, the Reps are +4 in the Senate, +56(!) in the House and have picked up 9 governorships for a total of 30. I would imagine they’ve picked up some state assemblies, as well, but not feeling like doing the detailed search to confirm.

Currently, Republicans control the lower houses in 28 states, the upper houses in 29. They split control of 2 upper houses with the Democrats, and 1 state is unicameral, with Republicans holding 61% of the seats.

Since the 2008 elections, Republicans picked up 15 lower houses, 6 upper houses, and control of 15(!) state legislatures.

Yeah, we’re just losing all *over* the place, aren’t we rino?

          • gary4205

And a good number of those pickups are DIRECTLY because of Sarah Palin!

          • Finrod Felagund

I’m guessing you always just go along with the flow and take whatever position those around you take.

          • Johnny Banco

So, because I find you to be whining over this particular issue leads you to conclude that about me?

You don’t know that you aren’t as smart as you believe you are, do you? :)

          • Finrod Felagund

That’s why I said “I’m guessing” instead of blindly asserting facts like you and many others. That and using numbers in place of words was lame even when Blue Oyster Cult and Prince were doing it, and it’s still lame now.

          • Johnny Banco

What fact(s) did I “blindly” assert – that you’re arrogant, and a whiner? lol

And to say that ‘concluding’ and ‘guessing’ are materially different here shows you are playing a game, which is not unexpected at all from in-denial whiners who are not as smart as they like to believe they are, is it? :)

          • Finrod Felagund

You seem to be laboring under the false assumption that I give an aerial copulation in a rotating torus what you think about me.

          • gary4205

Then why have you camped out her for two friggin’ days whining?

You got RedState to hang at! The rest of us have the rest of the world.

          • Finrod Felagund

Simple, I’m bored and it can be fun to taunt lesser minds like yours.

          • BenInNY

Ok, I know the definitions of “rotating” and “torus” but that particular substitution lost me… flying **** in a spinning wheel? Must be a partially local slang.

          • Finrod Felagund

It’s a euphemism for ‘flying fsck in a rolling doughnut’.

          • BenInNY

Definitely a new version to me :)

        • gary4205

Aw, poor wittle baby. You come here to troll and expect better? At least your are still ALLOWED to troll.

Try that at RedState and your masters would ban you!

          • Finrod Felagund

I haven’t been banned at RedState because I know when not to be a jackwagon, a skill you seem to not possess. Heck, I threadjacked a post by Erick himself one time to talk about legalizing prostitution and still didn’t get banned.

      • gary4205

Yeah, but we’ve seen your commenting history, it’s justified, but at least you are allowed to spew your hate. Independent thought is not allowed art RedState!

    • Finrod Felagund

They are a bit overzealous about eliminating trolls, but considering how many sites become unusable because of the liberal trolls that infest them, one can hardly blame them for going the other direction.

      • Right_Wingnut

Except that its not just libs they go after. Granted some people can be obnoxious, they tend to be far more aggressive than necessary. But it’s been like that forever, so I don’t expect it to change. At least I haven’t been banned. Probably came close a couple times.

  • Zathras11 @B5

Howe still = tool (for semi-apology).

  • blueniner

Howe is just reacting to firestorm of reactions and criticism that came his way, he has seen careers go in the tank of others. They get bit by Palin Karma.

  • kateorjane

Bottom line – he doesn’t care that Palin supporters disliked it and called it a fake because he really dislikes Palin supporters.

    • RUexperienced

…. probably more than Palin herself.

      • Guest

After the 2008 election Sarah Palin helped lead Republicans to the greatest congressional victory in several generations during the 2010 election with her endorsements and rallies all over the country ;she has endorsed 73 candidates for the US House of Representatives and Senate; state governors and attorney generals. Her success rate is at 69%.
18 out of 20 targets in her Take Back the 20 campaign ; this is a 90% success rate!

Sarah Palin also had a very strong hand in the party’s few successes during this election . Sarah Palin campaigned for constitutional conservatives llike Ted Cruz, Deb Fischer, Paul Gosar, resulting in 5 conservatives being elected to the Senate and 32 conservatives to the House.

Sarah Palin has offered many statements on issues such as health care, the Federal Reserve’s money printing in funding our federal deficit, Crony Capitalism, energy independence, foreign policy, etc)

She went to India , Hong Kong, World Knowledge Forum in South Korea ,etc where she talked about the economy, the deficit, government spending, gun control, the environment, the rising cost of food, energy, Egypt and other foreign policy related issues. She did unscripted Q&A’s

She was the first Republican to make a high-profile critique of the Federal Reserve’s quantitative easing, though even earlier she had marked the collapsing value of the dollar as one of her issues.

She has repeatedly been a leading voice—via television appearances and speaking engagements—against the dangers of ObamaCare and the risks of President Obama’s approach to energy.

Sarah Palin worked tirelessly to forward the commonsense conservative agenda she had always articulated and campaigned with and for those she believed best represented the values she believes are needed in government. And she continues her work to help put government back on the side of the people.

    • RUexperienced

…. probably more than Palin herself.

    • gary4205

Long history of it over there.

  • TJ

Fratricide is worst form of attack. The left does not need a reason to attack with or without an official stock photo of Palin or a Photoshop of her but this was a dumb reason to have a right on right fight. Why is the pick of the photo the thing to attack and not the post itself. One look at the lead photo and no need to red as it was a hit piece or something Why no counter post on how it the post was wrong.

    • Joe W.

Red State is NOT conservative. The manner in which they mock and denigrate Governor Palin rivals that of the libiots on the left. This was not a right on right fight. I t was calling the assclowns at Red State out for being the assclowns that they are. Just my opinion. Nothing more. Nothing less.

      • Finrod Felagund

An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.

        • Bean Counter

We all see differently. If we all saw the world the same way, it’d be a mighty boring place.

          • Joe W.

          • Finrod Felagund

Everyone should see the world differently, but there’s no reason to be a flaming jackass about it.

          • Joe W.

“Flaming jackass”?? Your self awareness is akin to a liberal, pal. You are pretty pompous and snarky yourself. Check your own attitude prior to criticizing other, lib.

          • Finrod Felagund

If that one stung you, then it must be at least partly true. See the old saying about throwing a rock into a pack of dogs and the one that yelps is the one that was hit.

          • Joe W.

Sting me? You give yourself far too much credit, pal.

          • gary4205

He’s from a liberal website, RedState, why should you expect him to act any different than a liberal? Look at how Erickson and Howe reacted, EXACTLY like a whiny liberal would.

These are NOT men of honor.

          • Joe W.

That is what I have been saying all along, Gary…

          • gary4205

Me too! I spend so much time whipping up on liberals have no patience for those who have infiltrated the GOP and try to pretend they are “conservative” I have less respect for them than democrats, and I have absolutely zero respect for democrats!

          • Joe W.

True. You see Red State in a positive light, and I do not. Anything so terribly horrible about that, Zorro?

So it’s not acceptable to voice my opinion, my friend?? Well excuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuse meeeeeeee.!!!!!

          • Finrod Felagund

            Steve Martin you’re not.

          • gary4205

Why not go back over to your RedState and stop trolling here then? NO ONE is on your side in this fight.

If you REALLY want to support Governor Palin, as you claim, walk away from that sewer!

          • Finrod Felagund

You really haven’t figured out that proof by assertion is not a valid proof, have you?

          • gary4205

All one has to do is observe the actions of the trash that runs the joint. You really think this is the first time people have noticed that Erickson, Howe and the rest are sexist pigs and shills for the GOP Establishment?

You should get out among actual Conservatives. RedState on it’s best day is considered a bad joke.

          • Finrod Felagund

            Steve Martin you’re not.

    • Finrod Felagund

I’m sure they’ll miss you terribly.

      • Jill

Should their advertising revenue begin to suffer due to a few thousand people feeling the same as Daisy, they will at least regret their hostile posturing and their preposterous towing of the party line. Their web traffic is already down to nothing as it is. The moron that wrote that hate piece on Palin only did it because ANYTHING with Palin’s name in the headline will get a lot of hits.

These liberal websites do it all the time, even with articles that have nothing to do with Palin at all!

          • mike_in_kosovo

Dot-mil had them blocked as an ‘extremist website’ until very recently.

          • Finrod Felagund

The military also blocked the Guardian recently.

            Wonder why! :-)

          • mike_in_kosovo

True…but only certain pages having to do with Snowden. The RS block, on the other hand, was at least the last 18 months and covered the entire site – it couldn’t be accessed at all.

          • gary4205

Not sure why. They aren’t much of a site, but not extremist, just stupid!

If Red State is willing to accept and publish fake anything what does that say about their credibility?

At least they didn’t claim it was ‘fake but accurate’.

      • gary4205

No they just said it wasn’t fake, then attacked anyone who complained! The “apology” from Ben Howe is only because dozens of powerful bloggers whipped him and Erickson like red-headed step children in print!

      • Bogdan51

RUinexperienced, you GRROSSLY PATHETIC FOOL. Being one of the most persistent, dishonest, hypocritical Palin bashers on the various conservative and not so conservative websites, you have NEVER hesitated in using the LIE both big and small to smear Palin.
I have been following your career as an anti-Palin troll for long enough to immediately smell the reek emitted by your rants, even from the distance of 20 000km.
Have you bothered to watch Greta interviewing Sarah and asking her about the “boob” job? There Sarah issues a thorough and sincere denial that she had.
Apart from that there is a cornucopia of photos that prove that she is a well endowed woman dated much before she had come onto the national stage.
Haven’t you got anything substantial or constructive to say?

Palin is attractive, intelligent, powerful, brave and admired and respected by 10s of millions.

          • gary4205

Wrong! I’ve been a Palin supporter for almost a decade, long before you hate filled morons ever heard of her.

The first bits of reading I did on her included NO photos. Just her record, THAT is why it was, if you will, love at first sight, for me. HER RECORD.

The “official” photos out there were rather dorky as far as I was concerned!

That said, only an idiot would dare proclaim that Sarah Palin is not a stunningly beautiful woman. But only a bigger idiot would think millions of Americans are ready to trust her as the leader of the free world because she’s hot!

That may be how you stupid liberals think, but it ain’t how the rest of the world does.

          • gary4205

It wasn’t just the photo idiot, it was also the hate filled attack on Palin within the article, and RedState’s long history of protecting the Republican party from any criticism, over standing on principle.

          • http://youhavetobethistalltogoonthisride.blogspot.com/ keyboard jockey

Who typed anything about conservatives or republicans acting like “Whiny feminist”? That’s the depth of your experience, there is nothing in between being a sexist or being a feminist?

The democrats know how to manipulate the masses with optics, and there are many who claim they are NOT sexist who feed the perception that women are inferior by their “ACTIONS”. That’s counter productive if republican’s and conservatives want the women’s vote that turned out for Obama in 2012, because of the fake war on women.

That takes people like Howe exhibiting some finesse when he’s expressing himself. He comes off as a petulant child. That’s fine if all he’s looking for is attention. It’s stupid if he’s using it to promote conservative values, and influence public opinion – voters.

The attacks on conservative women have to stop! I posted last night on this story and I’ll say it again……Palin has take more BS than any woman in the history of this country – for no reason whatsoever. I couldn’t care less if you hate her politics or what you think of her personally. If you demean her you demean all conservative women. Speaking as a woman – it’s a HUGE turnoff, so you “faux conservative” men better listen up…..there are bigger issues in this country right now than Sarah Palin. She’s not the problem. Focus your attacks on Obama and the left where they belong because I’m telling you guys right now…. I will NOT ever vote for another RINO and if you keep on eating your own you’re going to lose a large segment of the female vote. This I can guarantee you.

    • RUexperienced

For the record, Palin is most unpopular with women. Her support is strongest with men.

NBC News/Wall Street Journal polls taken at the height of each woman’s
political career — Palin in October 2008, when she was on the
presidential ticket, and Bachmann in August 2011, when she won the
coveted Iowa presidential straw poll — showed that they were best liked
at that time among men over 50. During those periods, just 38 percent
of women had a favorable view of Palin

      • wwbdinct

You just don’t get it, do you?

        • RUexperienced

No. I don’t get the hero worship of Sarah Palin….. I don’t get the cult following she has.

          • wwbdinct

I’ll respond one last time to you. I don’t hero worship. I’m not a “cult” member. If this was someone from the left who pulled this stunt it would be a big “yawn, what else is new?” The problem is the so-called “right wing” who bash her just as bad as the scum on the left. It’s wrong and it’s insulting not only to Palin but to conservative women in general. You don’t have to take my word for it and I really don’t care what you think. Just know that certain segments of the Republican party would do well to NOT take the vote of conservative women for granted.
In parting, F U and the Dan Quayle comment you Obama cultist, Kool-Aid drinking assclown.

            “have not quit”
            ————-
Sarah Palin served 32 out of 48 months the same percentage that Obama served of his Senate term (not including the two-year break he spent campaigning) and accomplished everything she set out to do in that time.

After Sarah Palin accepted John McCain’s offer to run for vice president and became the left’s (media) most attacked and vilified person she returned to Alaska to find a never-ending assault of frivolous ethics complaints paralyzing her ability to govern the state.

She resigned because she recognized the cost that the frivolous ethics complaints were having on her state , and she saw how much of her staff’s time and her own time were forced to deal with those issues.

That entire campaign of BS lawsuits was meant to do nothing but hamstring the governor’s office and bankrupt Sarah Palin.

She saw that if she stayed on as Governor it would continue to cost the state millions of dollars in wasted time and resources to defend against false and maliciously ethics complaints and doom it to gridlock.

Those frivolous lawsuits had already cost the state of AK close to $2 million; Sarah Palin had over $500,000 dollars in legal fees.

            http://articles.ktuu.com/2009-07-09/ethics-complaints_24126005

These lawsuits were filed by activists whose goal was to bog down her administration with lawsuits and paperworks & to bankrupt her middle class family. Sarah Palin was responsible for her own legal fees due to the ethic laws at the time. She & her staff were spending 80% of their time defending lawsuits & dealing with FOIA requests. No sooner would one lawsuit go away then another was filed.

Sarah Palin knew that for the sake of her state it would be best if she stepped aside from the governorship. She resigned so the state could move forward.

In an article Sarah Palin said:

“I said, ‘Enough. Political adversaries and their political friends in the media will not destroy my State, my administration, nor my family. Enough.’ I knew if I didn’t play their game any longer, they could not win. I would not retreat, I would instead reload, and I would fight for what is right from a different plane.”

She promised to keep the frivolous anti-Palin law suits away from the Alaskan people and to be more effective on the stump ( supporting candidates , fundraising, etc)

Sarah Palin was truthful on both accounts.

She was the catalyst for the takeover of the House , twice as many Governships and lopsided Gop Statehouses with her endorsements and rallies all over the country during the 2010 election.

Sarah Palin also had a very strong hand in the party’s few successes during the 2012 election.

          • Finrod Felagund

Getting Palin to resign was a Pyrrhic victory on the Left’s part; once she was free of the restrictions of public office, she was able to do a lot of things to cause wailing and gnashing of teeth on the Left that she wouldn’t have been able to do otherwise.

          • gary4205

            On this we agree 100%!

          • RUexperienced

Palin did not resign because of all of the lawsuits. At the time of Palin’s resignation, all of the ethics complaints were done. She said in her resignation speech, “All of the ethics complaints are OVER. We won them all!”

What she did not tell Alaskans is that weeks before she had just received a $1.25 million advance on her $7 million-$10 million dollar book deal.

She quit just like most people do after they hit the lotto.

Sarah Palin was paid $1.25 million while governor in advance of her upcoming memoir.

Palin described the book money as a “retainer” in new filings with the Alaska Public Offices Commission that detail her personal finances during final months she was governor.

Obama spends $100 MILLION of OUR money on an African vacation and you whine about $1 million Sarah earned 4 years ago? You’re seriously mentally ill, troll. lol

Besides, the left wasn’t done filing phony lawsuits and you know it.

          • RUexperienced

We weren’t talking about the cost of Obama’s family vacations.

We were talking about the fact that Palin quit very soon after receiving a $1.25 million advance on her $7-$10 million book deal.

My point was that most people, including most of us, would quit our jobs after hitting the lotto.

Just don’t glamorize why she did it.

          • $8245944

We’re talking about your rank hypocrisy. Sarah wrote a book; she didn’t hit the lotto, moron. If any one hit the lotto it’s the incompetent clown in the White House. lol

          • gary4205

Palin never has a 7-10 million book deal, that’s just crap haters love to sling.

Go away idiot, adults are talking

          • gary4205

Since when is making an honest buck a bad thing?

            Go away hate filled idiot.

Oh, and quoting the Anchorage Democrat News isn’t exactly an endearing proposition.

          • gary4205

Obama’s hand picked Alaska thugs cost the Alaskan people over $2 MILLION, because under law, no matter how ridiculous, those bogus complaints had to be investigated.

Had Palin stated in office, Obama’s thugs would have continued to rape the Alaskan people.

Palin did the only honorable thing the situation would allow.

          • gary4205

Dan Quayle never successfully ran a city, or successfully run a state. He DOES seem to be doing a fair job running Cerberus, but as a political leader, he wouldn’t make a decent pimple on Governor Palin’s behind.

It says something about you morally and intellectually bankrupt liberals that your ONLY attack on Conservatives is they are “stupid”

What it is, is you people are excellent at projecting your own failings on others.

“The hero worship never ends with you people.”

Yeah. Marco the Magnificent is gonna do it. Or maybe Mitt will run again in 2016. Now them thar’s some REAL he-roes.

            Except nobody worships Marco Rubio.

We can disagree with him on immigration, and still support him oh his pro life bill.

            Can you?

          • gary4205

His pro-life bill is going NOWHERE in the corrupt democrat running Senate. It’s just a stunt by Rubio, who thinks Conservatives are STUPID.

Damned near every Republican in Congress is pro-life. The only reason they aren’t rushing to ban abortions after 20 weeks is because as long as democrats control the Senate, it’s a waste of time, just like you are!

please go away rove-bot..ya’ll just don’t get the fact she governed conservatively, successfully, and could not be bought by elitist cronies, lives her beliefs—the antithesis of Obama, Hillary, Bill, and go-alongs like McCain, Rubio..

The point the poster made was that Palin does not flaunt her sexuality.
My point is that she does. She goes to the Iowa Fair on a hot sweaty day wearing a tight white t shirt…… wears skin tight jeans and tops…. jokes with thousands of NRA members about her breasts….

            Yeah. She flaunts it.

          • $8245944

      • Finrod Felagund

What was Sarah Palin’s popularity among women when she was getting a 91 percent overall approval rating as Alaska governor?

October 2008 is a pretty biased time to be talking about Palin’s approval rating, because she had been being bashed non-stop in the national media for two months solid at that point.

        • RUexperienced

Who knows. All we know is that her popularity in Alaska is very poor today. Her 90 percent approval rating is now 59 percent disapproval rating. Less than 1 in 3 like her.

          • Finrod Felagund

Jesus of Nazareth would have an approval rating that low had he been attacked by the media the way she was.

          • RUexperienced

I understand Palin was attacked unfairly.

She was dealt a terrible hand. But she played it even worse.

          • Finrod Felagund

So what would you have done differently?

          • RUexperienced

There is nothing Palin could have done during the 2008 election. The media was in the tank for Obama.

But post election, Palin could have stayed on her job and finished her term. As her friend and mentor Bill Kristol stated, she could have also gotten brushed up on the issues.

Palin should have followed up with her promise to use her status to help children with downs syndrome. That alone would have given her a lot more credibility when comedians attacked her son Trig for being “retarded”. Imagine Bill Maher making that kind of joke if Palin was the president of an organization like the Special Olympics.

She could have built more bridges with Republicans of all stripes instead of calling all of them nasty names.

And most of all, if Palin wanted to be respected she should have dropped the whole celebrity bus tour to nowhere and all of the reality show gigs.

All she did was to play into the hand of the people on the left who claimed she was intellectually shallow and only out for herself.

          • $8245944

Sarah still has a lot of power and that’s what really threatens you. Get used to it because Sarah Palin is here to stay. lol

          • gary4205

Played it even worse??? Are you kidding? Mediaite, a LEFT WING website that deals with media, rates Sarah Palin as America’s NUMBER ONE most influential pundit and politician. The TOP INFLUENCER

            http://thespeechatimeforchoosing.wordpress.com/2012/06/22/mediaite-ranks-sarah-palin-as-americas-top-tv-pundit-and-influencer/

If that’s what you call “playing it wrong” then you are a bigger idiot than I thought you were, and I figured you were as stupid as they come.

          • $8245944

Not true. Palin draws adoring crowds wherever she goes. Chaps your fat behind doesn’t it? lol

      • Guest

Sarah Palin has been attacked and scrutinized like no one else; she’s probably the “cleanest” politician out there.

There has not been one aspect of Palin’s life and career that has not been chewed over, criticized and lied about by her enemies; she has withstood the slings, barbs, bullets, and arrows that would have fallen a lesser person.

Soon after Palin entered the national political scene as Arizona Sen. John McCain’s GOP running mate, she was attacked as a diva, a clothes hog, an irresponsible mother and a political mercenary. They dismissed what she achieved as mayor of her hometown, commissioner of the state’s oil and pipeline board and governor of America’s largest state.

Sarah Palin’s enemies decided that nothing was too personal to attack-including her marriage, her children, her faith, and her wardrobe.

The media distorted Palin’s positions and beliefs beyond recognition. And almost every word out of her mouth was spun as a “flub”.

The media hounded her, and her family, on a daily basis, flat out making crap up (like that she, personally, shot wolves from the air). They claimed her baby was not her own; used despicable language to attack her, and her family; sent numerous reporters to Wasilla to dig up dirt on her ; AP reporters “factchecked” her book; accused her of being an accomplice to murder, her email hacked by the son of a Democrat congressman, political operatives filing endless bogus ethic charges designed to bankrupt a working family with a special need toddler and much more.

          • RUexperienced

Here is a poll from this year. Republicans have not lost Alaska in many decades. Yet Hillary would trounce Palin in Alaska:

Clinton would destroy Sarah Palin in a hypothetical (presidential) match up in the state, 53/37, including a 62/25 lead with independents. There’s no appetite among Alaskans for Palin 2016- only 16% think she should run to78% who think she should not, and even among Republicans just 18% would like to see her make a bid.

      Palin’s Woman Problem

In October 2008, Palin’s support dropped furthest and fastest among
women, and especially among independents: more than two dozen points
among independent women in barely 6 weeks. Consistently since the
campaign, every survey has shown the former Alaska governor much more
popular among men than women. And yet this attested statistical fact is
shrugged off with comments like, “when I saw her campaign in N.H., I was surrounded by moms with strollers”

So let’s try to bang this one down for keeps.

Earlier this month, CNN/Opinion Research released a poll
showing that only 28% of Americans now think Palin qualified for the
presidency. 70% say she is unqualified. Even among Republicans, only
54% think she is qualified, 44% say No.

The published poll does not break these answers down by sex, but I
asked my friends at the Political Unit for the cross-tabs, and here’s
      what they show:

While 33% of men deem Palin qualified, only 24% of women do. 66% of men deem her unqualified – and 74% of women.

Now look just at Republicans: Republican men deem Palin “qualified”
by a margin of 60-38. But Republican women? Not even half think she is
qualified: only 49%. 50% of Republican women say Palin is unqualified
      for the job.

The media went through pages and pages of Palin Emails (24,000+ pages of emails from Palin’s term as governor), looking for damning information that could wipe Sarah Palin from America’s political scene.

What they found was the inner workings of an efficient, informed and very involved governor that mounted an unprecedented 80 plus approval rating while in office…..not exactly what the death squads of WaPo, the NYT, and other mainstream outlets had in mind.

The Palin Emails (24,000+ pages of emails) show that Sarah Palin conducted the business of her state in a transparent, bi-partisan, and responsible manner. She worked long, hard hours and treated everyone with respect.

There were no sex scandals, no lewd twitter photos, no misuse of taxpayer dollars, and no malicious behavior, whatsoever. Just a governor doing her job.

Palin’s numbers are a reflection of her continuing to be very unpopular on the home front- 34% of voters see her positively to 59% with a negative opinion. She looks popular by comparison to Miller though- he has only a 20% favorability rating with 63% of voters giving him poor marks.

If you’re going to post OLD PPP polls, here’s one from MARCH 2012, the last PRESIDENTIAL poll taken with Sarah Palin in the mix, it showed she was WILDLY more popular than any of the actual candidates left in the race!

PPP: Sarah Palin Still More Popular Than Actual Candidates, Could Be Unity Choice at Brokered Convention

            http://thespeechatimeforchoosing.wordpress.com/2012/03/21/ppp-sarah-palin-still-more-popular-than-actual-candidates-could-be-unity-choice-at-brokered-convention/

The talk of a brokered convention never seems to die down and one interesting finding on this poll was that Sarah Palin is far more popular than any of the actual Republican candidates in the race. Her net favorability is +48, with 68% of voters rating her favorably to only 20% with a negative opinion. That compares favorably to +29 for
Santorum, +19 for Romney, and -26 for Paul.

Palin is someone GOP delegates might be able to unify around in the
case of a hopelessly deadlocked convention. She is seen positively by
Gingrich voters (85/7), Santorum supporters (80/10), and Romney ones (57/27) alike. That’s a contrast to Romney who is disliked by both Santorum (38/48) and Gingrich (32/54) voters and Santorum who is
disliked by Romney (38/48) voters and only seen narrowly favorably by Gingrich (46/42) backers.

Here is the one I was thinking of:

            =============================
A new poll by local pollster David Dittman should
be fairly disheartening to former Gov. Sarah Palin, and onetime U.S. senate candidate Joe Miller.

The poll questioned 400 Alaskans during a two-week period in March on their views of Palin, Miller and the job their congressional delegation was doing in Washington. The news was fairly good for the delegation, but not so good for Palin and for Miller.

Some of the results on Palin:

61 percent of Alaskans had an “unfavorable” view

39 percent of those had a “very unfavorable” view

13 percent had a “very favorable” view

The poll also proved that 68 percent of Republicans WANTED SOMEBODY ELSE.

In the general election, the Harper poll revealed that Begich leads Palin by 7 points, 47 to 40%. Other polls show Begich leading Palin by 14 points.

      • http://www.black-and-right.com/ IceColdTroll

Well good, that means you can stop obsessing over her, and go back to your erotic fantasies about Barbra Streisand.

  • Jack DeWalt

“I didn’t think it was sexist.”
Because… it wasn’t? Wow, what a bunch of whiny, imitation feminists some conservatives have become. If it were Hillary on Santa’s lap and a bunch of foaming-at-the-mouth lefties getting their knickers in a twist, you would all be laughing your heads off at the silly fools. But when the subject is Princess Sarah… Katie bar the door.

    • $8245944

That Santa would have to have a mighty big lap for Killary to fit her big, fat behind on it! lol

      • gary4205

And some sort of leg brace!

        • $8245944

That would have to be some leg brace!

Aww, go pout somewhere else, trailer trash.

This is the same problem the GOP has,.. you have to see things through the eyes of your opponents, He is unaware or unconcerned about how the left would use this photo.

The fact that it existed in his archives without the title “photo shopped” or “sexist” shows his ignorance of leftists political strategies.
We have to be wiser than the serpent!
I’ve never seen a real photo in which she flaunts her sexuality but the amount of fake ones is evidence that this is exactly what the left wants.
This guy is still a tool in my opinion but at least he apologized right?
If you are going to speak for conservatives you damn sure better be right!

    • wwbdinct

      Yes. Thank you.

    • Finrod Felagund

My guess is that he just did a google image search for “Sarah Palin” “Santa Claus” and saw what seemed like a reasonable picture without looking at it too closely.

      • gary4205

I see you are still here defending the indefensible. If you love RedState so much go back over and wallow in that sewer.and leave us Conservatives alone.

        • Finrod Felagund

I see you’re still blindly attacking anything remotely non-positive about Palin. Good luck with that.

          • daeghrefn

Gotta love those GOP fetishists talking about idol worship. Something about the elephant shape I guess.

          • gary4205

            Woo!

          • gary4205

Nope, over the last decade of supporting Palin I’ve grown a pretty thick skin, unlike Erickson, Howe, and the rest of the RedState swine.

Just sick of your trolling. We get it, you LOVE the idea of party over principle, and don’t care if America is circling the drain, as long as no one challenges the almighty GOP!

The rest of the world, especially Conservatives, ain’t down with that!

          • Finrod Felagund

You’re the one that refuses to accept the wisdom of Ronald Reagan.

          • $8245944

First you stop breaking Regan’s 11th Commandment, bucko.

      • $8245944

Well, they were wrong and should have manned up about it.

        • Finrod Felagund

That is true. However, haranguing them about it isn’t generally an effective way to make that happen.

          • $8245944

He apologized, didn’t he? It was obviously effective.

          • Finrod Felagund

Not necessarily. I could claim that the email I sent to the RedState contact address last night politely noting that the image was a fake and asking that it be removed was the catalyst for it. Maybe the rest of the RedState cabal didn’t know about it before then. Unless the author says why specifically, or someone else in the know comments, we can’t know for certain.

          • Granny40

Finrrod, I am glad you are spending more time here lately. At least it keeps you from commenting so much over at the hate-filled RS. Maybe if you are away from there long enough you will become deprogrammed from their cult of empty, pompous (without reason to be), hate-filled punditry. You were one of the only decent commenters there during my very short time at RS. I can understand your “tug” or pull to keep going back after you have invested years of commenting there, but what does this actually reveal about YOU? I believe the only reason they continue to let you keep posting privileges is because of your old-timer status. PowerToThePeople (PTTP) is the perfect example of somebody with ban-free permanence. His vile, disgusting, profane rants only make the “optics” of RS worse and worse — as you have pointed out several times. Thank you for that.

Honestly, the writing and analysis at RS does not measure up to the standards of most blogs these days. I truly believe that Eagle Publishing will dump RS eventually due to lower traffic/hits and the continual complaints they probably receive. Your time would be better spent reading and participating in a more balanced and worthy forum. I wish you the best.

            Granny ’40

P.S. The reason I was banned at RS in 2012 (within a couple of days of joining) was because I had the temerity to say that I disagreed with a policy of Governor Perry regarding instate tuition for individuals living in Texas illegally. Thankfully, that ban opened my eyes to the extreme tunnel-vision of some on the right. I’m sure your ban will happen eventually and will free you of unreasonable enchantment.

          • Finrod Felagund

$100 says you can’t get Sarah Palin to agree that RedState is a hate site. Offer limited to one person only.

          • Granny40

            Finrod,

What does Sarah Palin have to do with my calling RS hate-filled? To my chagrin, her name is NEVER mentioned in my comment. So, first – I apologize to everyone here for getting off-track of the thread. Next – being much more of a class-act than I, Palin would never characterize that site full of hateful clones (and clowns) in any other light than positive. Not once did I write that RS is a hate site. I twice described it as a “hate-filled” site. You could improve your critical thinking skills by researching the difference between a true “hate site” and one full of hateful so-called writers and commenters. Unfortunately, the truth of this matter is probably closer to the following: You already know the difference, but lazily misrepresented what was written to cover your fallacy-laden, illogical “connection” of my comment and Governor Palin.

I have also noticed your rhetorical pattern of argumentation used on other commenters here. It will not work with me. Your use of emotionality to cover for the illogical connections you “attempt” to make of statements you dislike has not escaped scrutiny. I do not recall (from my brief time at RS in 2012) your employment of those weak tactics. Go figure!

I wish you the best in freeing yourself of cultish devotion to a dying web site. I now ask that you not reply to me in the future. As an adjusted and balanced individual, I do not live my life online and am busier in retirement than ever before. So please waste no more of my time. As I am NOW aware — you simply aren’t worthwhile.

            Venerably Yours,

            Gran

          • Finrod Felagund

Your rhetoric is very similar to that of gary4205. I challenged him to get Sarah Palin to call RedState a hate site because he keeps saying that repeatedly with no justification. It was my error reading ‘hate-filled site’ as ‘hate site’.

You’ve read my writing, what, for a few days a couple of times? And you think you know enough to analyze me?

Your analysis of RedState seems to be clouded by your short stay there. Your use of extreme rhetoric like ‘hate-filled’ and ‘cultish devotion’ to me shows that you are quick to judgement and slow to deeper realizations. You think you are ‘adjusted and balanced’, but that is because your mind is closed. Plus, you presume to be able to command me. That is not consistent with conservative values of freedom and self-determination. You decide I’m not ‘worthwhile’ because I challenge your closed-mindedness and threaten your closed little world.

As I’ve told others here in this thread, your time would be much better spent against those on the Left that would love nothing better than to see all of us die in a fire. I don’t expect you to pay attention to anything I write, but as the old saying goes, if you can’t be a shining example, you’ll just have to serve as a horrible warning.

            Yours in Christ, Finrod

          • Finrod Felagund

The really sad thing about PTTP over on RedState is that she’s a she.

          • $8245944

She sounds like a pig, too. Doesn’t surprise me.

          • $8245944

Sure, you keep telling yourself that, doofus. BTW, I’ve got a bridge and some swampland I’d like to sell you. lol

The Red State weenies got b!tch-slapped so they backed down. It’s not rocket science.

          • Finrod Felagund

My undergrad degree was in mathematics. As the old joke goes, instead of saying ‘the cow is brown’, I’d say ‘there exists at least one cow that is brown on at least one side’. Precision is your friend.

          • $8245944

My degree is in Psychology and I am a student of human nature; I also understand men. The “men” of Red State are weak and respond to force–bullies always do.

They backed down because they were deservedly hit upside the head for their deceitful, unattractive and boorish behavior toward Sarah Palin. I have no respect for slugs like them.

          • Finrod Felagund

You attract more flies with honey than with vinegar. I’ve gotten RedState to do things before with politely-worded email to the contact address.

If you really did get a degree in Psychology, you’d understand that. People tend to defend themselves when attacked, but are more likely to correct themselves if their mistakes are pointed out politely.

I would also like to point out something Ronald Reagan said: “The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally — not a 20 percent traitor.” If you are a conservative, you probably agree with RedState at least 80 percent of the time.

          • $8245944

Real men wouldn’t attack Sarah Palin the way the pigs at Red State or The Daily Caller do. I have no desire to sugar-coat my response to them. They are beneath contempt even if we might agree 80% of the time.

Perhaps you should direct your little chestnuts of wisdom toward your buddies at Red State, since they are the ones who started this nasty little fracas.

          • Finrod Felagund

Oh, I’ve made my opinion known there plenty. I find it sad that you are unwilling to accept the wisdom of Ronald Reagan, though. As Benjamin Franklin once said, “Gentlemen, we must hang together, or we will most certainly hang separately.”

          • $8245944

Seems you’ve forgotten Reagan’s 11th Commandment. How very convenient for you.

Besides, you’re not gentlemen; go hang alone for all I care. I prefer the company of people with integrity, not the clueless, classless thugs at Red State.

          • Finrod Felagund

You’re hating on RedState and you have the gall to quote Reagan’s Eleventh at me?

How do you live with your self-contradictions?

          • $8245944

Who hated first, brain-trust? You’re a weenie just like your loser heroes at RS. Obviously, you’re too obtuse to see your own hypocrisy.

Hang alone, because you won’t hang with us. You belong with the loser Alinskyites.

          • Finrod Felagund

You’re the one that’s been calling me names this whole bloody thread, and accusing me of things that you’ve been doing all along. I’ll hang wherever I want to and if you don’t like it, you can shove it up your fourth point of contact.

You have been engaged in defining people you perceive as your enemies as something less than human (references to ‘real men’), which is the same technique used by the Left to justify any attack on the Right no matter how vile, the early 19th Century South to justify slavery, the Communists to justify their atrocities, and the Nazis to justify what they did to the Jews.

No matter what you may tell yourself, you are not a moral person, and I pray for your eternal soul.

          • $8245944

Projection. You and your piggish ilk at RS started it.
Real men don’t lie about good women.
            You are the filthy leftist.

          • Finrod Felagund

I never defended anything RedState posted.

Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt for you. I pray you learn to let go of your hate.

          • $8245944

            More projection.
Yes, you have. You’ve equivocated all over this thread on behalf of your loser buddies at RS. Man up, weenie, and pray for yourself. You’re going to need all the prayers you can get where you are going. lol

          • Finrod Felagund

It’s cute how you use words like ‘equivocated’ as if you know what they mean.

          • $8245944

I know enough to have beaten your simpy, wimpy behind, Finrod Nimrod. Why don’t you scoot back to your fellow weak weasels at RS?

          • Finrod Felagund

Wow, as if I’ve never been called that before. (Hint: you’re not even the first in this thread.) I’ll hang out wherever I want to, and you’re welcome to your delusions, since it seems to be all your shriveled soul has.

          • $8245944

Bet you wish you only had a shriveled soul. LOL!

That was a good one. The joke’s on you, poor little Nimrod.

          • Finrod Felagund

Jesus and I are fine with my soul just like it is.

          • $8245944

Really? Is that what that cacophony of discordant voices in your head tells you?

            That’s not Jesus, sweet-cakes. Sorry.

          • Finrod Felagund

Like you’ve ever talked to Jesus. Not with the hate in your soul, what’s left of it anyways.

          • $8245944

You’ve become trite and tiresome, a perfectly pious prig.

            You bore.

          • Finrod Felagund

Guess I must be getting to you, since you’re running away. Just as well, you’re bound and determined to not learn anything anyways.

          • $8245944

Your meat-headed nonsense is boring me to sleep. Yawn.

Crawl back to RS where you belong, bonehead.

          • Finrod Felagund

Can’t say I’m surprised, your mind is so closed it’s a wonder you aren’t constantly bored. And I’ll go where I please, whether you like it or not.

          • $8245944

I liked the first nimrod better. You’re obviously less intelligent.

          • Finrod Felagund

It isn’t my fault that you can’t comprehend me. Using words like ‘obviously’ is the sign that you want to say something and know you can’t justify it, so you try to justify it with assertion alone. Silly person.

          • $8245944

Sorry I hurt your feelings but the other troll was a lot smarter than you. I hope he/she is paid more than you and the painfully embarrassing drivel you post.

          • Finrod Felagund

I’ve been on the Internet for far too long for someone of your limited skills to even have a chance of hurting my feelings. Too bad for you.

          • $8245944

You’re better than a sleeping pill. Thanks for your services, loser. lol

          • $8245944

            Tedious, trite troll. Toodles.

          • Finrod Felagund

I’ve never seen a real photo in which she flaunts her sexuality

….. but you are aware that she goes to the NRA convention in skin tight jeans and brags to all of the men there that she “has the rack.”

Yeah, she doesn’t flaunt her sexuality.

      edit

  • Jay Stevens

” … was the only reason the photo was even in there was to tie in to the
last paragraph. But they’re offended, it’s fake, we’ll change.”

He is sounding a lot like Dan Rather defending Bush’s fake ANG letter.

  • $8245944

They have to lie to get attention because no one gives a [email protected] about the losers.

  • joshpainter

Now over 10 hours after Ben Howe’s mea culpa, and the photoshopped pic is still up at RedState.

    • Finrod Felagund

Well, there hasn’t been anything new posted on the front page in 25 hours and counting now either.

      • gary4205

That somehow stops the hate site known as RedState from changing the photo?

What Josh is saying here, is that everyone involved with RedState are just bunch of hate filled, sophomoric jackasses, and liars.

They meant that post to attack and demean Governor Palin, and they meant to assault and demean Governor Palin’s millions of supporters.

Erickson, Howe, and everyone involved with RedState is low class and not worth of being considered serious human beings.

        • Finrod Felagund

If Josh wants to say that, I think he’s perfectly capable of saying that himself and doesn’t need you saying it for him.

I’m pointing out if no one is posting on the front page, it’s likely no one is doing other things on the site either.

The problem with your hyperbole such as the hate site known as RedState is that then what do you call the true hate sites like democraticunderground.com? As CS Lewis put it: “Don’t use words too big for the subject. Don’t say infinitely when you mean very; otherwise you’ll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite.”

          • gary4205

There is no difference between RedState, HuffPoo, Dem Underground, or any of those hate sites

The names may change, event the tactics, but they are all teeming sewers of hate, run by self-important losers who couldn’t care less about America, unless it somehow strokes their egos, or feathers their beds!

          • Finrod Felagund

It appears my first reply got lost in the bit bucket somewhere, so I’ll repost.

If you really think RedState is a ‘hate site’, then I have the following challenge for you. If you can get Sarah Palin to state without qualification that RedState is a hate site, I will give you $100. I’ll even give you a year to do it, until July 6 2014. If you can’t then you owe me $100.

If you’d prefer not to gamble, we’ll make it for charity. I’ll give $100 to the charity of your choice if you can do it, otherwise you give $100 to Human Events, RedState’s corporate parent.

So what do you say? Are you someone that just blathers nonsense online, or are you willing to back up what you say?

          • $8245944

I believe Red State has been hateful toward Sarah Palin, but the Governor is too classy to lower herself to their level.

          • Finrod Felagund

RedState is not a monolith. They have multiple frontpagers with differing opinions. The same day the article with the photoshopped photo was posted, EE posted his own article mostly defending Palin.

          • $8245944

The worm’s turning, babe. Try to keep up.

          • Finrod Felagund

Your efforts would be better spent fighting those on the Left that would be delighted to see you, me, RedState, Twitchy, and everyone else even marginally on the Right all die in a fire.

          • $8245944

They’re next; right after we beat the crap out of you “marginally on the right” losers.

            Leave Sarah alone dammit!

          • Finrod Felagund

Shows how clueless you are. My three top candidates for 2016 are Condi, Sarah, and Rand.

          • $8245944

Uh huh, sure. Whatever you say.

          • Finrod Felagund

          • $8245944

          • gary4205

You mean Condi Rice who voted for Obama TWICE? The one who runs a close second to Hillary for being the worst person to ever be involved in foreign policy?

Go back to RedState, you’re kind of ignorance will thrive there!

We all like Rand Paul, good man, but he is in no way qualified to be president.

If he’s serious, he should hang in Congress for a while, then go run for Governor of Kentucky, and learn how to govern.

          • $8245944

What’s your evidence for how Condoleeza Rice voted? I’m guessing it came out of your imagination, because you fill in the (vast) blanks with what you want to believe. Did you ever read her book about her time as National Security Advisor and as Secretary of State? Of course not, that would hurt your mind too much and you can’t pull it up in a browser to read it anyways so you’d never bother.

Personally I doubt Condi will run, because she’s too sensitive of a soul to be able to tolerate the crapflood that would be thrown at her from people like you.

And I’ll go wherever I want to, thank you very little.

          • $8245944

RedState IS the left. That’s NOT a Conservative site, it’s a place where a bunch of immature Republican frat boys can hang out and tell each other how superior they are to the rest of the world, while the rest of the world actually laugh’s it’s collective ass off at them!

Liberalism is liberalism, it’s not about party, but ideology. RedState subscribes to that evil ideology.

Your words are meaningless because you lack the conviction to put them to the test. There’s knowing what the path is, and then there’s walking the path. You can spew meaningless garbage on websites, but have you ever considered becoming a precinct committeeman in your local Republican Party? Of course not, because that would involve getting out from behind your keyboard and dealing with the reality that is outside your door.

Have fun with your ever-diminishing circle of online friends that will slowly outgrow you with time. It’s going to be a bitter trip for you, I’m afraid.

What a stupid challenge. You really think Sarah Palin cares about RedState, or any of the worthless trash that writes there?

My God, she’s flushed better things after a bowel movement!

RedState has always been hateful to Palin and her supporters. That’s a fact.

Their hateful, frat boy nature is why ever conservative blogger has been kicking their asses on their own blogs, and why Erick Erickson is considered a punchline among Conservatives.

Erickson actively hates women, and has written numerous idiotic posts that make the stupid thing guys like Todd Akin or Richard Mourdock said look like the wisdom of Plato!

Here’s my final, profound, and provocative thoughts on what Governor Palin is really trying to achieve. And why we damned well better get behind her!

RS McCain: By God, Sarah Palin is Right! AND So Is McCain. Here’s Why BOTH Are, and Why That’s So Important!

    http://thespeechatimeforchoosing.wordpress.com/2013/07/05/rs-mccain-by-god-sarah-palin-is-right-and-so-is-mccain-heres-why-both-are-and-why-thats-so-important/

    • RUexperienced

The article you link states this:

(Palin is) right to oppose this amnesty sellout

If Palin is right to oppose the “amnesty sellout,” would it be right for Sarah Palin to fess up that she has been ad advocate for her “not total amnesty” program for the last five years?

Sarah Palin supported a “path to citizenship.” In 2008 she said it is not economically possible and not humane to round up 12 million people and deport them. In 2010, Palin proposed a plan for illegal immigrants to register with the federal government, gain legal status to live and work in the United States and eventually to gain US citizenship.

Yet she now blasts Rubio for the same thing?

How is Palin’s pathway to citizenship and y different than Rubios?

      • $8245944

Rubio lied to get elected. He pretended to be anti-amnesty until he became a Senator. Rubio is a fraud.
Sarah didn’t lie about anything. Sarah would never sell out her fellow Conservatives.

Only a lying hack would try to conflate the two.

        • RUexperienced

Sarah Palin said this to get elected Vice President. She supported a Rubio-like amnesty program. What does that make her?

Q: As governor, how do you deal with them? Do you think they all should be deported?

Sarah Palin: There is no way that in the US we would roundup every illegal immigrant -there are about 12 million of the illegal immigrants- not only economically is that just an impossibility but that’s not a humane way anyway to deal with the issue that we face with illegal immigration.

Q: Do you then favor an amnesty for the 12 or 13 million undocumented immigrants?

Sarah Palin: No, I do not. I do not. Not total amnesty. You know, people have got to follow the rules. They’ve got to follow the bar, and we have got to make sure that there is equal opportunity and those who are here legally should be first in line for services being provided and those opportunities that this great country provides.

Q: To clarify, so you support a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants?

Sarah Palin: I do because I understand why people would want to be in America. To seek the safety and prosperity, the opportunities, the health that is here. It is so important that yes, people follow the rules so that people can be treated equally and fairly in this country.

          • $8245944

Sarah was the Vice Presidential candidate who had to run on the Presidential candidate, John McCain’s, platform.

She wanted immigration reform but she never said she wanted amnesty and she would never have supported the train-wreck Shamnesty legislation that Rubio and Chuck-You Schumer are pushing now. What don’t you understand about “NOT TOTAL” amnesty? Sarah told the truth.

Rubio lied, Rubio’s political career died.

          • gary4205

Here’s what happened, really, with Rubio, yeah, he lied like a cheap rug about all kinds of things, not just amnesty.

Fact is, in Florida Rubio was Jeb Bush’s mini-me [like he’s now McCain’s mini-me] He was 100% open borders, let the world come in and rape America!

But here’s the deal, Charlie Crist was such an undesirable, sleazy, greasy, lying crapweasel, voters would have voted for Charlie Manson or David Berkowitz over Crist!

Much like with Mr Hopey-Changey, not a lick of vetting was done with Rubio. All he had to do is smile, say what he thought people wanted to hear, and there ya go!

If you want to know the truth, Rubio is nothing more than the GOP’s Obama, without the likability or credibility!

          • $8245944

I’m a Cruz Missile fan myself.

Haven’t you earned your money from Soros, or Media Matters, or OFA [who ever pays you to troll] by now?

Lies, hate, and misdirection. It’s something you do on Palin articles all over the internet.

Your act works on liberal websites, because their readers are morons who have the IQs of a door stop!

Here you are dealing with adults who have an education, and are engaged.

      • gary4205

Governor Palin has NEVER been for amnesty , troll.

If you remember while other politicians HID, or like my idiot Governor, Rick Perry [an amnesty shill] attacked Arizona for doing something about illegals, because Obama won’t, Sarah Palin got on an airplane in Alaska and took the long flight to Arizona!

When Governor Jan Brewer signed the legislation into law, Governor Palin was right there by her side.

Then Governor Palin cut some commercials in support of Arizona.

THEN Governors Palin and Brewer took in a Diamondbacks baseball game! Palin wanted to make damned sure the entire country knew she stood with Arizona!

You know MANY serious human beings would consider talking about what to do with all of these illegals, IF the first priority of these treasonous bastards like Marco Rubio was to SECURE THE BORDER 100% FIRST.

In fact, Rubio and his fellow treasonous Senators have killed any and all legit attempts to secure the border in even the slightest way.

They should all be tied behind teams of fast horses and dragged through the streets of DC until nothing is left of them but bad memories!

Governor Palin, like every other American with a lick of common sense, wants the border 100% secure FIRST. THEN we can look at a humane way of dealing with the 20 million or more criminal aliens who are here.

Common sense idiot, not rhetoric is what separates Palin from corrupt politicians and mouth breathing trolls like YOU!

        • RUexperienced

After securing the borders, you are aware that Sarah Palin, in a 2010 interview with BIll O’Reiley advocated the following path to citizenship, right?

1- Require all illegal immigrants to register. Deport the ones that don’t
2- Provide a means for all registered illegal immigrants to work and live legally in the US
3- Provide certain “steps” for illegal immigrants to gain citizenship

How again is Palin’s path to citizenship different than the amnesty portion of Rubio’s bill? Or is it roughly the same, meaning that Palin would support the Rubio bill as written, as long as the borders were better secured?
