2 male models rescue 7 Darwin Award winners who fell through the ice in Central Park pond

Two male models are being hailed as heroes this morning after they rescued 7 teenagers who had fallen through the ice on a pond in Central Park while trying to take a selfie.

Video right before the ice gave way shows the teens frolicing on the ice, oblivious to the danger. According to reports, the models were walking by at just the right time (although we don’t know why the person filming the teens didn’t drop the camera to help):

The two heroes, Ethan Turnbull, 24 and Bennett Jonas, 23 are now enjoying a well-deserved 15 minutes of fame:

Local ABC 7 reports that one of the boys remained hospitalized while the 6 others were treated and released.
