NBC News had an embarrassingly desperate “fact check” of Donald Trump’s statement about Hillary Clinton’s deleted email at Sunday’s debate.
In addition, NBC Foreign Correspondent Katy Tur offered this real time “fact check” after something Trump said last night, and then later you’ll see how it “evolved.” First up:
Trump tries to blame Obama "line in the sand" decision on Clinton who was not in State when it happened.

Is that so? Nope, not at all:

The line in the sand was August 20, 2012. We have this crazy fun new thing called google. Maybe check it out sometime. https://t.co/tC18ovqD8p

But she was Sec of State when it happened. You need to fact check before you fact check if you don't know what you are talking about. https://t.co/WKdWCaoJEH

Waiting for a retraction here, you're dead wrong. https://t.co/6odBwFEVWS

However, later on, notice how Tur highlighted a Politico article which suddenly made the issue evolve away from when Obama drew the red line to when it was crossed:
Clinton was not secretary of state when Syria crossed the 'red line' – POLITICO https://t.co/U5nQc9QyEk
— Katy Tur (@KatyTurNBC) October 10, 2016
See what happened there?
Politico changed the assertion in order to make Hillary seem right. the dishinesty is compounded by Katy by vomiting the lie again. https://t.co/1iKWEQ2FWJ

When you say something wrong you should probably own it not keep digging. The question was about US policy Katy not Syrian reaction. https://t.co/zjJ29TMJoZ

He didn't say she was there when Assad crossed it. He said she was there when there was a line in the sand. Absolutely true. She drew it. https://t.co/Lla6BvGEwZ

Hillary Clinton’s often urging the mainstream media to “fact check” things for her, and it isn’t hard to understand why.
