The top liberal fear of Judge Brett Kavanaugh being confirmed to the Supreme Court is that he will work to overturn Roe v. Wade (and maybe even ban contraception — not), but a popular (and debunked) Democrat talking point against Kavanaugh is that he allegedly suggested that a president should not be subject to civil litigation or criminal investigation while in office.
Here’s 2020 hopeful Cory Booker completely misinterpreting what Kavanaugh said:
The fact that Kavanaugh believes that a President should not be subject to civil litigation or criminal investigation while in office means that Trump just nominated a justice who has already reached conclusions on these serious questions. That should raise enormous red flags.

And Booker was at it again Wednesday, suggesting that Kavanaugh would rule the Mueller investigation unconstitutional.

The Senate Judiciary Committee chimed in to set Booker straight on an important distinction:
Independent Counsel ≠ Special Counsel
Separately, Justice Kagan on Scalia’s dissent in Morrison v. Olson, in which he argued that the Independent Counsel Act should be struck down: "one of the greatest dissents ever written and every year it gets better” https://t.co/LLtVxALkgB https://t.co/MqnvD9my7w

Got that? A special counsel isn’t the same thing as an independent counsel, but thanks for playing.

“Bound to spark questions” must be the liberal version of “Republicans pounce.”
Independent and Special Counsels are not the same thing. You know that and you’re being misleading.

Booker spews false narratives about Kavanaugh because he and the Democrats sense their losing power to reinterpret the Constitution as they see fit rather than as written. They want a ‘living constitution’ to accommodate their social and political prejudices. Bad for America!

Oops.
Never mind the facts, though: Booker’s followers ate it up.
Exactly why he chose him.. to crush the investigation, and protect him by any means necessary
