We mock Democrats a lot around here, but really, we should be grateful to them for always knowing what’s best for us. And just, well, knowing things that the rest of us don’t:

Over at Townhall, Katie Pavlich writes:

In 2015 the Hearing Protection Act, which would deregulate suppressors and remove a $200 per unit ATF tax, was introduced into the House. Since then, a few different versions have been up for consideration. Now that Republicans are the majority in Congress and with a Republican sitting in the White House, the bill has a decent chance of passing.

Ah, but not if New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand has anything to say about it!

And you know why it’d be so dangerous? Because, as Gillibrand will tell you, “silencers” render guns silent.

No, she really said that:

See, that’s the kind of kneejerk brilliance we’ve come to really appreciate from the Democratic Party.

She apparently got her information from very reliable sources:

Next time Sen. Gillibrand gets the urge to spout off, she might want to suppress it.
