As Twitchy told you earlier today, a 28-year-old man was arrested at Disneyland Paris hotel. According to reports, he had two handguns, ammunition, and … a Koran.

But John Haltiwanger, senior politics writer for Elite Daily (which touts itself as “The Voice of Generation Y”), doesn’t really see why that last part is relevant:

Maybe those were rhetorical questions, but that didn’t stop these tweeters from weighing in:

Haltiwanger expanded on his thoughts:

  • Gloves M. Donahue

Tell us his name and we’ll let you know about the Koran.
Who takes book to a theme park?
Who takes a death cult manifesto to a theme park?

The “religion of peace” spreading the word.
It’s a small world, after all.

    • Joe DeCaro

      It’s — a third world af-ter all.

One of his twits tweets: “The man’s motives are currently unclear. Mentioning Quran immediately implies Islamic extremism when we don’t have facts.”
…#RightYouAre, Haltiwanger (sounds like a brand-name for a condom)…Ya never know if “fresh off of Oregon” one of ’em Christian white NRA-notjob’ll walk around DisneyPark carrying a Quran & singing the “Call to Morning Prayer”.

You never heard the term “hate f*ck”?

          • ReeFungorio

For some reason, the only time I ever hear that is in reference to a conservative woman. Because sexism against a conservative woman is OK; she’s obviously not a real woman, amirite?

          • Frogmouth

I have no idea how you reached that conclusion based on my comment.

          • ReeFungorio

I’m not sure what conclusion you mean. I was just making an observation that I think the only time I’ve ever heard that term (hate f*ck) is by a liberal in reference to an attractive conservative woman.

          • Frogmouth

“Because sexism against a conservative woman is OK; she’s obviously not a real woman, amirite?”

Which I neither stated or implied.

          • verbena

the legal term is Rape, but yeah….

          • Frogmouth

No. A rapist doesn’t need to like or dislike his victim.

          • verbena

No? the legal term isn’t rape? Pretty sure it isn’t about like or dislike either. It’s about violence, dehumanization, and control. Now F()ck off…

          • Frogmouth

It’s okay if you disagree with me. I can’t force you to be right.

  • JBDestiny

For safety. You know, just in case any Islamic terrorists show up, he’s ready.

  • Askwatch

For any mass shooting in this country, you can bet that the entire leftist media complex immediately begin pleasuring themselves just on the hope that the perpetrator has some Tea Party, conservative, or Christian connection. If the perp had a Bible, you can rest assured that the NYT would not only put it in the headline, but would make the whole story about how the shooter was Bible-motivated.

  • grais

How long should a news organization wait before mentioning that he had a Koran ?
That kid may be a “writer” (scoff) but he ain’t much of a thinker.

  • topbond101

A little off topic but this great video just came out:

  • topbond101

Yes, it definitely would have made news if he had a Bible. Every Christian in America would be told to answer for this act of terror. Yes, because Jesus totally said “go and kill disciples of all nations.” /sarc

  • Conservative_veteran

Is it really necessary for you to automatically defend him because had the Book of Pedophilia aka the Quran with him? Why is it you act as though we are discriminating against some innocent victim every single time one of these towel headed savages goes on a murder spree?

    • topbond101

Im starting to get to the point where the Quran needs to be called out on its bogus claims.

To thee [the people of the Gospel] we sent the Scripture in Truth, confirming the Scripture that came before it, and guarding it in safety [Surah 5:48].

“We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the messenger of Allah” – but they killed him not, nor crucified him [Surah 4:157]

Excuse me, how can you say the Scripture is truth and at the same time say Jesus wasn’t crucified?

  • Shoeless Joe

The Koran has nothing to do with Islam! Oh wait.

“‘Is it really necessary’ to mention Disneyland Paris suspect’s Koran?”

Ah say, the last time ah saw anyone that willfully blind, ah say willfully blind to situational circumstance was when the farmer caught that fat, old hen, put her on the stump, and then pulled her head to the other side of the stump… Ah say, her little old head was turned towards the coup and she said, a chiropractic adjustment! How nice!

  • Carolyn#OYSD

Is it really necessary to immediately mention he had a Quran? Would they mention if he had a Bible?

Seriously? The NYT would dig up that one time, at band camp, where someone threw a bible at him and hit him in the head causing him to hallucinate and believe he was on an Islamic Jihad, once again placing the blame NOT on the person, but the bible.

    True story.

I wonder, was he this concerned over the Dylann Roof incident Did he point out how the Confederate Flag had nothing to do with it? Betting not.

Amazing how morally double- and triple-jointed the Left gets when it’s THEIR ox being gored, isn’t it? NOW we should be all super-secret careful and stuff, the way the Left NEVER is when they can stand on a pile of bodies and accuse those Not of the Body of something …

  • Ashram13

Was it necessary to mention the Koran in the foiled crime?

Well, if it relates to a motive, then generally yes, because it becomes pertinent at that point.

  • Dan Abbett

Guns, Quran, Muslim, Paris, gee, I wonder if there is a connection. The determination of the left to hide, bury or ignore the obvious connection between terrorists attacks, the brutal murder of innocent men, women and children, Allahu Akbar and all that and Muslims/Islam is surreal. It simply defies all understanding.

  • Kimberly

The headline would have read ” Bible Carrying White Man Arrested”.

  • HiltonHead_Dude

I’m sure he doesn’t understand why the religion of the 9-11 terrorists was mentioned either.

On the other hand whenever there is a mass shooting he’s probably the first to mention it’s probable a Christian conservative white guy who watches FOX.

  • Richard Cox

“Not fair to mention the Quran when we don’t have the facts!!!”

Um, that IS one of the facts.

Am I wrong to assume that the Parisian authorities thought it was noteworthy to mention that he had it along with the weapons? It’s not as if there haven’t been 2 terrible newsworthy “events” in Paris over the past few months that were perpetrated by followers of the Koran. I believe I remember reading that several people were killed due to the simple fact that they were not followers of said book.

Yes. The headline would have been: Bible toting right wing nut job arrested with guns at Disneyworld

  • swg

Was it a automatic assault AR-15 Koran?

  • Fingolfin

Well to be honest there is a danger of someone trying to gin up fear by pretending to be part of a bigger movement by doing something like this. But still the presence of a Koran on his person would indicate that he is a devout person and that would raise suspicions about why then he would do something like this.

  • brainy435

They usually assume a shooter is toting a bible until it’s proven he isn’t, don’t they?

  • soxfan4evah
  • Paul

It is necessary to mention that he had his “holy book,” the Coran, because it has become a symbol that one automatically associates with Muslim terrorists. The Bible has nowhere the same connotation. If you don’t agree, ask me and I’ll explain in detail.

  • JV

but I’m sure if a pastor went to the park with a …. gasp…. BIBLE, he would surely mention in his “reporting”
