Editor’s note: The title of this post originally read “‘Never seen anything like this’: Are Holder, DOJ openly defying Utah same-sex marriage ruling?”. The title and text have been amended for clarification. While the governor’s office said it would not recognize the marriages, the issue of recognition was not part of the SCOTUS decision.
If there was any remaining doubt that the Obama administration considers itself above the law, this might take care of it:
Atty General Eric Holder: US will recognize same-sex marriages in Utah, despite state's putting recognition on hold.

This past Monday, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a stay on Utah’s recently-overturned ban on same-sex marriage. On Wednesday, the governor’s office announced that it would not recognize the same-sex marriages that had taken place while the ban was overturned.
But today, Attorney General Eric Holder announced that, despite the state’s stance on the Supreme Court’s action, the federal government would recognize all same-sex marriages performed in Utah:
Just IN: US to recognize gay marriages in Utah: AG Holder: "for purposes of federal law, these marriages will be recognized as lawful "

@amandacarpenter Why haven't the @GOPLeader @gopconference or @Senate_GOPs censured Eric Holder for overstepping his authority?

Was that Eric Holder stepping all over Utah's state's rights regarding gay marriage? Yes it was!

Eric Holder today confirms again the lawlessness of this administration as he overrides the will of the majority in Utah.

The federal government is trying to undermine state's rights with Utah. What happened to the 10th Amendment?

I despise Holder almost as much as I do 0. So much for State's Rights. #Utah
