Or, rather, when he cooks one. In the second annual Minnesota Hot Dish Off, Democratic Sen. Al Franken tied with Republican Rep. Chip Cravaack for first place. Franken came up with the idea for the competition last year as a way of bringing together members of the Minnesota Congress from both houses – and both parties.

We can take some comfort in knowing that no matter how much our representatives disagree, they can still find common ground over sketchily-named dishes. At least in Minnesota. Those of us in the other 56 states will have to wait for our Kumbaya Moment.
