Franken came up with the idea for the competition last year as a way of bringing together members of the Minnesota Congress from both houses – and both parties.

We can take some comfort in knowing that no matter how much our representatives disagree, they can still find common ground over sketchily-named dishes. At least in Minnesota. Those of us in the other 56 states will have to wait for our Kumbaya Moment.
