Russia’s been doing propaganda for years. You’d think they’d be a little better at it by now.
Alas, we’re not sure that even the most diehard Russian nationalist would actually believe any of this stuff is legit.
First, there’s this footage from the Luhansk People’s Republic, one of the separatist territories within Ukraine supported by Vladimir Putin:
NEW: The LPR claims mortar fire from Ukrainian forces hit a house belonging to occupants who had recently evacuated to Russia. The speaker holds up a paper with the date, 22.02.2022, in an apparent attempt to show that the incident wasn’t pre-recorded. pic.twitter.com/CWDaSzzfN7

What more evidence do we need?
It checks out, he does hold a paper with the date 22.02.2022, it must have happened.

I’ve printed stuff out before so I can confirm only today’s date comes out the printer
— Minesweeper champ ‘93 (@thelucyfordeps) February 22, 2022
this has to be real because I just tried to use my printer to print a piece of paper with tomorrow's date on it and the printer said, no, that would be dishonest, and refused to print it https://t.co/f61rqX6qVJ

Heh.
— Georghurt (@georghurt) February 22, 2022
That might as well be what the piece of paper said.
I seldom laugh out loud at things on the internet but this… this was was one of those occasions. Amazing.
