Earlier today, Sarah Huckabee Sanders tore into Samantha Bee for calling Ivanka Trump a “feckless c*nt”:
White House @PressSec Sarah Sanders statement:
“The language used by Samantha Bee last night is vile and vicious. The collective silence by the left and its media allies is appalling…"

"…Her disgusting comments and show are not fit for broadcast, and executives at Time Warner and TBS must demonstrate that such explicit profanity about female members of this administration will not be condoned on its network.”

But while Bee’s comments were disgusting and degrading, they’re still protected by the First Amendment (though TBS is certainly free to fire her if they so choose). Kathy Griffin, who has some experience saying and doing some pretty disgusting and degrading things, is fighting back against criticism of Bee. She sent out this tweet featuring the First Amendment:
But Griffin’s point didn’t really work on CNN’s Chris Cillizza:
This isn't about whether Samantha Bee CAN say it.
It's about whether she SHOULD say it.
And whether we as a society SHOULD condone it. https://t.co/egEshw5Ubv

Griffin’s responses weren’t quite so … diplomatic:
You are a sad, pathetic man @CillizzaCNN https://t.co/mbdeKMA5Ey

Oof. We wouldn’t be surprised if Cillizza was biting his tongue when he sent this response:
Name-calling is pointless.
The debate over how we should treat each other is not.

And ’round and ’round we go:
Uh no Chris you tweeted something insanely dumb. You said that this isn’t about whether @iamsambee can say something…it is. When the White House uses its power to get someone’s show cancelled that’s when we get into that territory.

Yeah … if it’s all the same to you guys, we’re just gonna sit back and enjoy the show.
Omg, you owning @CillizzaCNN is life.
