While most of the media stay silent, Megyn Kelly addresses Salazar, UCCS rape remarks

Remember Todd Akin and his “legitimate rape” remarks? Or Rep. Phil Gingrey? Or Richard Mourdock’s misconstrued comments about children conceived during rape? The mainstream media ensured that we’d never forget. And as Twitchy reported, Colorado State Rep. Joe Salazar is now finding himself in a similar situation after his insulting trivialization of rape and his downright idiotic suggestion that women are too emotional to carry guns. Yet, oddly enough, on Salazar, the national media have remained largely silent. Just to be sure, The Right Scoop, “just a blogger,” did a bit of digging at various MSM outlets and found … nothing:

Not a peep from NPR:

Not even The Wall Street Journal has anything to say:

What’s with the radio silence from the media? Could it have anything to do with the fact that Salazar, unlike Akin or Mourdock, is a Democrat?

A few local outlets deigned to cover the controversy:

They were unable to do so, however, without letting their bias show. Unfortunately, this is the sort of thing we’ve come to expect by now.

Fortunately, not everyone in the national media is letting Salazar off the hook. This afternoon on “America Live,” Megyn Kelly went where so few others are willing to go and addressed the moronic musings of Salazar and the University of Colorado – Colorado Springs:

It’s a sad state indeed when journalists need to be commended for doing their jobs, but kudos to Kelly for calling Salazar and the faux-pro-women Left out on their idiocy. We hope other media outlets will follow Kelly’s lead and hold Salazar accountable, but we suppose that’s hoping for far too much.
