It’s impossible, right? It’s impossible to see that little girl and not feel your heart just bursting with happiness.
Unless, of course, you’re a joyless scold who manages to find the racism and hatred inherent in a little girl’s display of pure love for her family. Erica Ifill is one of those people. A self-described “economist, journalist, & anti-racism expert,” Ifill took one look at that little girl and was overcome with feelings of disgust. Disgust for the patriarchy. Disgust for white Anglo culture. Disgust for … a sweet little girl:

Are we sure that’s a picture of joy? And not a picture of Erica as the last shred of her soul is leaving her body?
What kind of sick and twisted and demented person turns a little girl’s love into an opportunity to trash white people? The smile on that girl’s face is as genuine as anything you’ll ever see out there, yet Erica’s suggesting that the girl is a victim of gaslighting by the white supremacist patriarchy.
Erica wouldn’t know joy if it slapped her in her nasty, bigoted, stupid face.
