Gee, why would Brian Stelter 'want a break' from the Michael Avenatti news? These flashbacks might explain it [pics]

You’d think that Michael Avenatti facing federal charges and potentially looking at several decades in prison would be pretty newsworthy, but frankly, CNN hall monitor Brian Stelter is busy with other things:

Full disclosure before this Apple event starts: I'm a consultant on one of Apple's many shows, a drama set in the world of morning TV. But I don't know when or how the show is being released. I think we're about to find out…

Wonder why.

Avenatti? What happened to Avenatti, Brian? https://t.co/knNkYJtPac

Does Brian not have any Reliable Sources who can weight in on the Avenatti situation?

Early #FF to @brianstelter whose feed is must-read for Avenatti news today.

oh and look who's show Avenatti went crying to after Carlson picked on him: pic.twitter.com/M99RQKWaso

— Cuffy (@CuffyMeh) March 25, 2019

Avenatti spent quite a bit of time crying on CNN.

Avenatti, the same guy your garbage network had on 74 times in a month?

And laughing it up, of course:

That photo on the right got deleted. Good thing tweeters like @redsteeze preserved it for posterity:

It’s okay. I saved that deleted tweet of CNN hosts partying it up with Avenatti. Why would such a thing need to be deleted? pic.twitter.com/iutCtnwaxi

Great question!

The Avenatti news cycle that literally started an hour ago? Why would we need a break from that so quickly?

Oh….oh I see now. pic.twitter.com/tEPS9fGa7H

It would be terrible if we kept on this Avenatti news cycle. Embarrassing, even. pic.twitter.com/hZ5iKt9XoG

How nice. Changing the subject already…

— Voice of The Mute (@eduardoauthor) March 25, 2019

Nice try, Brian. But this is one story you can’t outrun. Not when you played such a pivotal role!

Remember when @brianstelter called him a serious contender, while slobbering all over him in a Reliable Sources segment. https://t.co/1KAXjfE5yE

Which one? He was a guest several times. https://t.co/FOhasG1skL

True.

LOL @ "your presence on cable news," as if Stelter and CNN were just bystanders. JFC

Update:

'This somehow got better'! Per WSJ, Michael Avenatti's alleged co-conspirator should be familiar to CNN viewers https://t.co/9OCfUQ65Mf
