I remember when Bill Kristol was the guy. Neocon heavyweight. Weekly Standard editor. Son of Irving Kristol. The intellectual face of conservatism back when “conservatism” meant invading countries and writing strongly worded columns about it. Respectable. Serious. Then Trump showed up with his America First vibe, zero appetite for endless wars, and a habit of saying the quiet part loud, and poof — Kristol’s entire worldview shattered like a wine glass at a Gallagher show.
Fast forward to right now, April 2026. Trump’s back in the Oval Office, Pete Hegseth is at Defense, and what’s Kristol doing?
He's sitting on X complaining about Trump (like he was ten years ago) ... and that's about it. Oh sure, he has some liberal rag outlet he pretends is so conservative that they had to turn into crazy progressives because Trump made them.
This is the same song Kristol’s been singing since 2016, only now it’s somehow even more unhinged. The man literally can’t process that Trump keeps winning and the country keeps chugging along.
It's honestly getting to a point where it's no fun to make fun of him anymore.
But you guys know me, I'm willing to sacrifice for my art.
“Expanding the Supreme Court is no different that redistricting in California and Virginia. It is a proportionate response to Republican attempts to degrade liberal democracy and move America toward a post-liberal order.”https://t.co/4SnIPZyYVJ

So he's good with gerrymandering states and packing the courts, as long as it's Democrats doing it?
That did not take long. Bill Kristol just cited the California and Virginia gerrymandering efforts as support for packing the Supreme Court with a liberal majority...

What?
You know what, I don't think I want to know.
