I have a really bad habit of not wanting to be told what to do, what to think, how to vote, or who I can and can't hang out with. I know, it's this pesky freedom thing that burns brightly in my brain that makes me too difficult to ever be on the Left. Honestly, most people on the Right are this way as well. We don't do groupthink, we don't follow, and we tend to speak up and out, even if we know what we have to say may not be popular.
We all know I've done my fair share of not being popular, even as far back as 2015, when I wasn't a fan of Trump. That was the hardest time of my 'online political' life because my own supposed 'side' was coming for me.
So, when I saw Megyn Kelly being criticized by our own side today for sharing a conversation Charlie Kirk had with Candace Owens, it just didn't sit well with me.
It all started here:
The Charlie Kirk letter to Bibi is interesting for obvious reasons, but if you want to hear Charlie in his own words speaking to a friend re his feelings on Israel & the pressure on him, it’s all here on Aug 6th. No filter needed, just listen to him. https://t.co/OdWCTGFpnX

It's one thing to disagree with her choice, to voice concern (heck, I'm no fan of Candace), but to basically demand she separate herself from someone or a story she's sharing or else? Like this? That's screwed up.
If you can’t separate yourself from Candace Owens, many of us are going to separate ourselves from you. We do NOT have to align with everyone that claims to be “of the right” when their motives and history are as shady as hers.

Of course, Megyn had a rightfully assertive response to this:
Look at this. No, I have no obligation to “separate” myself from anyone. I run my own media company and my own show. That show is where I express my own opinions and I will decide what/what not to opine on. If you need me to condemn Candace or Tucker for their opinions in order… https://t.co/xweKF7iSYH

Her post continues:
... to listen to me, then I may not be for you. He’s a close friend, and she is under enough pressure w/o gratuitous shots from me. My fight is with the left, not these two.
Not to mention, Megyn was calling Candace out in 2023; it's not like she's a Candace fan-girl in any way.
And as she points out, her fight is with the Left, as it should be for those of us on the Right. I know that sounds really partisan and charged, but the reality is we have to accept that's the way the Left wants it, and trying to work across the aisle has become dangerous.
None of us has time to argue about who we choose to 'hang out with' or cover, and if you do, you're not busy enough.
Just sayin'.
