When we first moved to Virginia, I had no idea how bad the politics were here. I KNOW, I KNOW, it's DC's backyard, and thousands of bureaucrats who work in the federal government live here, so I should have known better, but nearly ten years ago, I was still a bit naive.
Hey, it could happen.
I guess you could say the first time I saw how gross it is here is when Ralph Northam ran a campaign ad with that giant black truck trying to run over illegals, especially kids. And of course, there was a Trump bumper sticker on the back of the truck ... he won.
Not long after he won, it became evident Ralph was himself a fairly nasty racist (when your choice if wearing blackface or dressing as a klansman, it ain't great), and things have just gone downhill in many ways. Sure, Youngkin, Sears, and Miyares won in 2021 but only because Democrats so badly screwed over Virginians that even their voters were pissed at them.
Unfortunately, that didn't roll over to Tim McKaine's race, and I'm worried it won't be enough to keep Abigail 'Flash Drive' Spanberger from becoming governor. Not to mention this dingus is up for election next year, even though he promised he wouldn't only run twice.
This will be Mark Warner's fourth time running.
