Gavin Newsom wants to run for president, and he has for years. Honestly, when they forced Joe Biden off the ticket last July, I half-expected them to run Newsom, but then they probably figured out replacing the black woman serving as our then-VP with a rich white guy would have super bad optics since they've spent many years now claiming they care about women and people of color.
So they ran Kamala and lost.
