When I first started writing for Twitchy back in 2016 (yes, I've been doing this for a long long time), Matt Drudge was someone we wrote about in a positive light as he was a formidable voice on the Right, especially when it came to right-leaning media. His site was truly a list of important stories from the Right that allowed us all to find a way to at least hold our own when dealing with the legacy/mainstream media who was then and still remains in the pocket of the Democratic Party. Now, I don't know exactly what happened to Drudge, but it sure seems like Trump broke him like he broke so many others.
I have seen rumors about China buying Drudge Report and other things about the site floating around, but when I saw this from Drudge mocking Trump for going to McDonalds I just had to write about him ... and sadly, not in a positive light.
What happened to this guy?
Take a look, you'll see what I'm talking about:

Again, when I first started (yeah yeah, almost a decade ago) the Drudge I used to cover would have thought this was awesome, a win. He would have mocked Kamala for lying about working at McDonalds and applauded Trump for actually getting it done. This was so clearly a win for Trump, such a good idea from his campaign that I have to assume the people screeching about it are just broken. Then again, I suppose anyone who would vote for Kamala is pretty eff'd in the head so perhaps it makes sense.

But that doesn't mean I have to like it. Sort of like how Liz Cheney just suddenly lost her mind, or Bill Kristol magically discovered he's actually an unbearable progressive douche and he has been all of these years. What happened to so many people conservatives like me used to look up to? Or did I finally get so cynical doing what I do for a living that I'm somehow missing something bigger here? Why is the sky blue? How could wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?
Then again, I haven't had enough caffeine today and could definitely be overthinking all of this.
All of this being said, remember when Drudge didn't suck? Those were the good ol' days.
