Like many people on the Right, I used to look up to and respect David French. It's true. He was always sort of this calming, informed, conservative voice that made sense to me when the crazy was surrounding the country. Even in 2016, when French started losing it over Trump, I respected it because at the time I wasn't exactly sold on 45 myself. But then Trump surprised me, and millions of other Americans, by pushing a surprisingly conservative and very successful agenda. When he nominated Gorsuch, Kavanaugh, and even Barrett it finally felt like we had something worth celebrating on the Right. FINALLY. So when French and other conservatives still refused to give Trump credit and they turned their nose up at him in 2020, even I started to get annoyed.
Add to the fact in the years past, French has insulted Twitchy and accused us of basically being bullies, and I'm not exactly his greatest fan these days.
Especially since he started writing for The New York Times so they can pretend they have an unbiased staff even though all French does is crap all over the Right JUST like the leftist writers they've had for years.
Case in point.
Every David French piece now amounts to "To save the country, I will repeatedly punch myself in the balls". pic.twitter.com/vmtpqT22yz

Any Republican who would endorse or vote for Kamala Harris KNOWING what she will do to this country has no business pretending they're somehow better than the rest of us or SACRIFICING so much on our behalf. Oh woe is French, he has to keep pushing the anti-Trump grift which we all know is very lucrative, especially from someone who the left can pretend is a conservative.

It is the kind of thing someone would write if you think public policy doesn’t matter, but do think you can personally get ahead and avoid admitting you were wrong.
He's utterly contemptable.
He's a shameless hack at this point.

And the fact that he still claims to be a religious person speaks to his disrespect for the ninth commandment.
What the headline should really say is French will continue pretending he's a conservative who hates Trump as long as the New York Times keep paying him to do so.
