Kristi Noem Just Needs to Stop Digging and Go AWAY (I Said What I Said)

Fuzzy Chimp

Greetings, dear reader. If you are a fan of Kristi Noem and can overlook the fact she not only shot her dog but bragged about shooting said dog very publicly in her book, this article is not for you. One of the great things about working for a right-leaning outlet with right-leaning (brilliant) readers is that we can disagree with one another and instead of fighting, we can dialogue. We can debate. We don't stomp our feet and form an encampment.

Ahem.

So, out of respect for those of you who are still Noem fans, I am going to give you one more chance to click out of this article.

Going.

Going.

GONE.

Still here? Thanks. Guys, this has been such a horrible story, one of those stories you see as someone who often cheers people on the Right as a non-winner. There is no spin here, there is no way to repair what has been done, and honestly, I'm not sure I want this fixed. There are a lot of things I can forgive because we're all human and we make mistakes, but shooting a puppy (and yes, if you're still giving your dog's age in months, they're a puppy) because she has not adequately been trained and then WRITING ABOUT IT very publicly in a book shows multiple levels of bad decision-making.

Add this to the fact she vetoed legislation that would have protected women from men in their sports (which she eventually allowed to pass when she figured out how horrible of a look THAT was), and I just want her to go away. Luckily, I think Trump and his team have also come to this conclusion, if he chose a dog killer for his VP candidate that is all we'd hear about from here to November and considering how angry the Right has been about this story? She could tank him.

The fact she went on with Sean Hannity to further explain the incident claiming she was afraid for her children only pissed me off more. I get it, I'm not a rancher, I have two very pampered pooches who live in suburbia behind a privacy fence and spend their days lounging in the sun and barking at odd noises in the home because they are convinced the dishwasher is out to get them. These two ...

But you don't need to be a rancher to know you don't shoot an animal and then FREAKING BRAG ABOUT IT IN A BOOK.

Heck, most of the ranchers I've talked to about this say they don't shoot their animals this way; they also bring up the goat she shot that day as well and that she talked about how much she hated this dog.

This is not someone doing what's right for their ranch or family, this is someone with a short fuse who couldn't be bothered to adequately train their animal before taking her out on a hunting trip. This is someone who thought it was smart to brag about shooting a puppy.

At this point, she is simply a liability to the Right.

And to dogs.

I said what I said.
