Joe Biden's campaign is hiring a DEI Director.
No, really. They are.
I saw a mention of this cross my timeline and when I went out to search to see if this is true (c'mon, it probably is but maybe, just maybe the Biden campaign isn't a total clown show and even they can read the writing on the DEI wall) I found the actual job posting! And guess what? I applied. NOT EVEN KIDDING. Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for a job, and trust me, I have no interest in working in DEI but I just couldn't help myself.
Think they'll hire me? Heh.

Here is the actual job description (note, there were actually a few grammatical errors I went ahead and corrected for my piece):
The DEI Director will focus on creating and executing a comprehensive strategy to attract and support diverse talent to further the campaign’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. They will also be responsible for upskilling and educating campaign staff about DEI. The focus is strategic and programmatic in nature and experience in the DEI space is essential.
Here is their list of key responsibilities:
- DEI strategy and programming
- Hiring and support of diverse employees
- Learning and development
The preferred skills and qualifications are a hoot:
- Progressive experience in Human Resources, Employee Experience, and/or Campaign Operations
- Excellent organizational, leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong collaborative skills to work effectively with others, seeking out and building positive working relationships both inside the People team and cross-functionally
- Strong program management and proactive problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in HR software, data interpretation, and reporting
What the Hell is 'progressive experience'? Anyone? Also, just FYI, this job pays $95K-$120K a year ... and since you guys are VIP subscribers, I've included the link to the job posting in case you too would like to apply. Surely, the Biden campaign wouldn't discriminate against someone because of their political ideals and persuasions.
Right?
Oh, when you go to apply you'll see the Biden campaign REALLY cares about your pronouns:
Woof, right? What the Hell is Ey/em?
In the end, you'd think a campaign focused on actual diversity would want someone in that role who doesn't think like them because that's the whole point.
I'll let you guys know if I get a call or an interview.
