Pro-Life Women, We Have a LOT of Work to Do

Democrat Marilyn Lands won an Alabama State House seat in a special election on Tuesday in what was a Republican district, and she won by campaigning on promoting access to abortion and in vitro fertilization (IVF). This happened after Alabama’s Supreme Court issued a ruling in February declaring that embryos created through IVF should be considered children.

Governor Kay Ivey signed a bill into law in early March protecting IVF, but by that point, the ‘damage’ was done. Democrats had exactly what they needed to terrify women into believing Republicans are not only going to ban abortion and birth control, but will prevent them from going through IVF as well.

Considering Democrats have very little to run on otherwise, this was a gift.

Why, you ask? Because women have been told over and over again that access to abortion is our most important right, and anything less than abortion on demand up to and including birth is somehow a violation of our rights. I don’t know about other women, but the idea that my rights are somehow tied to taking the life of another is abhorrent to me. My rights are the same as any man’s, that’s equality. The moment someone slaps a label on my rights I become ‘special,’ not equal.

Special is never equal.

We have to be smarter about this issue, and by ‘we’ I mean women, especially pro-life women. Yes, the majority of Americans support abortion BUT (and this is the part our pals on the Left love to leave out), they also support restricting abortion to the first trimester. You’ll notice any time there is a restriction in place the Left will insist abortion has been banned because they know Americans oppose a ban.

Sneaky, right? Changing the definitions of words has been very successful for Democrats for decades, why change now?

So here’s what we can do:

  • We can make sure we are informed about pro-life legislation across the country and in our states. Knowledge is POWER.
  • We can be a voice of reason by providing facts and information even when the ‘other side’ is screeching about The Handmaid’s Tale at us. Keep your COOL.
  • We can be compassionate for women in tough situations who need support and love, not judgment and hate. Love your fellow WOMEN.
  • And above all else, be a voice for the voiceless, the most innocent among us. Be a champion of the unborn.

It’s time we take Democrats ‘ammo’ away when it comes to abortion and so-called women’s rights. And who better to do that than pro-life women?
