We suppose Rick Wilson is going to accuse us of being little minions and writing a pathetic hit piece on him for putting his fairly vile tweets to Amber Athey in an article but hey, we’ve been insulted by far bigger and dumber people so eh …
We’re not entirely sure why he felt the need to drag Daily Caller editor, Amber Athey and what he thought might come of it but here we are:
I know I've struck blood in the Trump universe when they start deploying their little minions to write pathetic hit pieces. pic.twitter.com/8X1JEeoiRe

He’s struck blood.
Ok, full disclosure, this editor used to really like Rick Wilson and would have even called him a friend BUT at this point, it’s like he’s lost himself in his Trump Derangement Syndrome which used to be a joke but seeing discussions like this? TDS is very real.
Athey fired back:
A "pathetic minion"?
What is pathetic is that you tried to intimidate me in The Hill green room and condescendingly called me "dear" on the phone. Is that how you treat all female reporters? Or just the ones you don't like? https://t.co/i0WaIX1k0I
— Amber Athey (@amber_athey) December 7, 2018
Oof.
Oh, and the offer of xanax and wine. Definitely not sexist. Not at all.
— Amber Athey (@amber_athey) December 7, 2018
OH boy.
Athey was on a roll and who could blame her?
I usually don't talk about things that happen in green rooms, but I figure it is fair game now. I was sitting down and looking at my phone, and Rick starts pacing back and forth before stopping in front of me. He had a complete meltdown and yelled at me for a months-old story.

Bless your heart.
I in no way yelled at you. You would have known. https://t.co/MSQ2hC3TLB
— Rick Wilson (@TheRickWilson) December 7, 2018
Not helping, Rick.
I tried to defuse the situation by asking for his number so I can reach out to him quickly for future stories. He seemed to calm down and gave me his number and I apologized if he thought I was unfair in any of my reporting (which I don't think I was).
— Amber Athey (@amber_athey) December 7, 2018
In other words, it sounds like she was the adult in the room.
Months later and he tweets out a conversation of me asking for comment (again, politely) and makes sexist comments and calls me name. This is actually unacceptable.

This is TDS.
You can gaslight me all you want but your behavior speaks for itself. https://t.co/GsUo9P5jyZ
— Amber Athey (@amber_athey) December 7, 2018
It does.
And the behavior of his followers as well:
Get a real job, Amber.

You are priceless! ?

Awww, look at that Hillary avi sending Rick some love.
Speaks volumes, doncha think?
To be fair, Rick is smart media guy, he’s tough but it seems like he’s gone the way of other conservatives who Trump ‘broke’.
Amber has no clue who she's dealing with….clearly
— mich ess (@michs50) December 7, 2018
But she does know who she’s dealing with.
We all do, we’ve been watching him since the election – how could we miss him?
I love that the Trump-right media plan is "Troll and throw chaff and no one will read the Manafort sentencing memo."
Slow clap.
