For months (years?) now, we’ve seen plenty of footage coming out of San Francisco of people blatantly shoplifting in various stores throughout the city. Since they decriminalized petty theft it’s been pretty horrible for big business, and quite honestly devastating for small businesses.
Seems they’ve figured out that allowing people to steal is a bad idea.
But only if they’re brazenly stealing.
Don’t make that face, we didn’t come up with the rule …

We especially like the picture of this obvious shoplifter with his kid. Not to be THAT person or GO THERE, but most videos we’ve seen coming out of San Francisco did not feature thieves that looked anything like this dude.
Ahem.
That’ll teach all you shoplifters for brazenly shoplifting!
Oh…I get it.
"Crack down" = "Allow victim businesses to report the crime"
LOL.

But *discreet* shoplifting is fine.

Ooohh… how “tough” BUT most of the goods are already stolen & many many MANY stores just closed their doors.

Interesting choice of photo to illustrate the crack down on shoplifting, are you saying this dude swiped that shirt?

Not allowing folks to shoplift sounds pretty racist to me…..
