Oh, my! ABC’s Jake Tapper got a coveted Jerry Seinfeld shout-out on Twitter today for a report in which he made awesome “Seinfeld” references. Tapper was, of course, thrilled.
!!!!! RT @JerrySeinfeld: @jaketapper @daveweigel @IJasonAlexander Nice conflation. Not quite the same thing indeed.

ok, @jerryseinfeld gave our POTUs-as-Costanza show a thumbs up. (drops mic, goes home) http://t.co/D18fLhcg http://t.co/dbc9J0sJ

Indeed! “Tapper OUT” is all that is needed now! Tapper’s report pointed out something that had been a joke on Twitter.
At speech in Colorado, President Obama tells Americans that the jerk store has run out of Mitt Romney.

President Obama’s debate performance was reminiscent of a “Seinfeld” episode titled, “The Comeback.” In the episode, character George Costanza came up with a snappy comeback way too late.
Reilly: Hey George, the ocean called. They’re running outta shrimp.
(George drives along. He’s fuming at Reilly’s dig.)
George: (Angry, to himself) The ocean called. Running outta shrimp. Outta shrimp! (A thought occurs) Oh! Yes! That’s what I shoulda said! (Frustrated shout) Dammit!
[New York Health & Racquet club]
Jerry: ‘The ocean called, they’re running outta shrimp’?
George: Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then, I said to him, ‘Oh yeah? Well, the jerk store called, and they’re running outta you.’
Jerry: (Smiling) Really? That’s great. You said that to him?
George: (Confessing) Well, actually, I thought it up on the way over here.
Jerry: Oh. That’s not quite the same.

Tapper equates President Obama’s lame Big Bird “comebacks,” hours and hours after the debate, to that episode. Oh, snap!
Jerry Seinfeld self-quoted from the episode in his tweet: “Not quite the same,” and Twitter users love it.

@jaketapper @JerrySeinfeld Jake, what I love is you and Jerry Seinfeld are in my almost solely politics twitter feed … worlds colliding!

It’s like another “Seinfeld” episode: “The Bizarro Jerry.” Worlds colliding, indeed.
And many others are green with jealousy over the Tweet-out from Seinfeld.
@jaketapper @jerryseinfeld @daveweigel @ijasonalexander Tapper gets Seinfeld mention I've dreamed of my whole life. Burning with jealousy

But not everyone is squee-ing.
@JerrySeinfeld @jaketapper @daveweigel @IJasonAlexander Did Tapper actually refer to http://t.co/Jf5SMX8f as Mr. am???
— David Burns (@dcb1995) October 8, 2012
@jaketapper The fact that you ignored the part where @jerryseinfeld said "it's not quite the same thing" makes me question your reporting.

Oh, dear.
@JerrySeinfeld @jaketapper @daveweigel @ijasonalexander thats what makes Seinfeld so great! It conflates w/ nearly everything in life <3 it!

Yes! A show about nothing? Or a show about everything? Twitter, you decide!
