There has been massive pushback against FLOCK cameras in Florida. In fact, Governor DeSantis demanded the cameras be removed from state right of ways. There is concern they are too invasive and some law enforcement agencies are misusing the data. To be fair, there are cases of that.

That's a problem, but law enforcement agencies say they are policing their own and arresting officers who misuse the system and these stories are proof of that.
That hasn't been good enough for the public. The majority don't want the FLOCK cameras to return.
Then came a case in Florida this week where a Polk County IT professional was busted for putting a camera in the woman's restroom.
Rather than face arrest, the man took off, went into the forest, took a bunch of pills and then killed himself.

Sheriff Judd believes they could have tracked this man and stopped him from killing himself had the FLOCK cameras been working.
Why did we care about saving this guy, Sheriff Judd?
I am a huge fan of Grady Judd. I've written glowingly about him here many times. I think he is missing the mark on this one.
I have a tangential interest in this story because a person I love could have been affected by this pervert's actions. It hits a little too close to home. As a result, I'm glad the loser is dead. He took out the trash himself and it saves taxpayer dollars. I feel terribly sorry for his wife and children. They don't deserve this humiliation. Hopefully, they can more quickly find peace with him gone since they won't have to endure a trial.
I also disagree with how the whole press conference went down. The criminal left behind a 17 page manifesto. Judd read most of it publicly.
Why give that man that kind of after death notoriety? Did it make for riveting content? Maybe. Still, there was no redeeming reason for it.
