The Center for Strategic & International Studies (CSIS) is an august Washington DC think tank that publishes papers on foreign policy matters such as India’s economic recovery. Last night, someone with access to CSIS’s Twitter account spoke some truth to the America-bashers at Amnesty International (screencap via @itsjustatank):
Of course, CSIS promptly deleted the tweet and apologized for it. Which reminds us of Michael Kinsley’s definition of a “gaffe“:
“A gaffe is when a politician tells the truth — some obvious truth he isn’t supposed to say.”
