Rape survivor Amanda Collins hits back at anti-gun state Sen. Hudak: 'You weren't there' [video]

Earlier this week during a Colorado legislative hearing, rape survivor Amanda Collins told lawmakers she was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in a so-called campus “safe zone.” The man who attacked her is now on death row for killing a woman.

Revoltingly, Colorado state senator Evie Hudak told Collins the statistics were “not on your side.” “Chances are that if you would have had a gun, then he would have been able to get that from you and possibly use it against you,” she lectured.

As Twitchy reported yesterday, Hudak apologized privately, but Collins didn’t know “how genuine” Hudak’s apology really was.

On Wednesday morning, Collins continued hitting back on “Fox and Friends.” She defended her belief that “my choice in how I want to protect myself should not be mandated by the government” and said:

I was there. I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt in my mind, that had I been carrying that night I would have at some point been able to stop my attack. And consequently, two other rapes would have been prevented and a young life would have been saved.
