J.G. Obama to donors: I need cash now, because change is hard and I'm going gray

Cash now? Dammit, now we’ve got the J.G. Wentworth opera ad stuck in our heads. Unacceptable!

Change is hard and Grecian Formula ain’t cheap.

At least, that was President Obama’s message to his biggest donors during a phone call aboard Air Force One this weekend.

In 2008 everything was new and exciting about our campaign. And now I’m the incumbent president. I’ve got gray hair. People have seen disappointment because folks had a vision of change happening immediately. And it turns out change is hard, especially when you’ve got an obstructionist Republican Congress.

Nevertheless, we’ve gotten more done in the last three years than most presidents do in eight years … I just hope you guys haven’t become disillusioned. I hope all of you still understand what’s at stake and why this is so important

Smells like desperation. The president has the lapdog media panting and drooling and he still has to beg and plead with donors to contribute as much as they did in 2008.

Forget that many of the president’s policies are wildly unpopular. It’s the visible signs of aging that are making this campaign tough.

Oh, that and obstructionist Republicans, natch.

That’s also the message in his campaign calls (minus the whining about gray hair, for now).

Obama can go ahead and clear the shelves of Just for Men, and the American people will still be disappointed.
