Hollywood legend Shirley Temple Black died Monday night at the age of 85. The former child star achieved iconic status in the 1930s and went on to take an active role in Republican politics, serving in several diplomatic posts.
While many mourn an American treasure who lived a full, incredible and inspiring life, as her name trended on Twitter, some seemed a tad confused. Yes, Shirley Temple was a real person, not just a non-alcoholic drink garnished with maraschino cherry.
Come on, guys.

RIP Shirley Temple Black.
