Five months: Guy Benson outlines why the latest Fox News poll 'should concern' the GOP

The good news for Republicans in the latest Fox News poll is that it does not contain harsh reviews of President Trump’s job performance five months ahead of the midterm elections.

The problem is found in the generic ballot, which shows Democrats with a nine-point advantage, despite Trump’s numbers.

Under Obama, Democrats experienced a steep drop in support for their ticket during the midterm elections. It will be interesting to see if Trump’s absence from the ballot will be a major factor (one way or another) for Republican candidates.

In a Fox News poll from June 9th of 2010, Obama’s numbers were 46 percent approval to 45 percent disapproval. Trump is in roughly the same position.
