A student at Alfred Letournaeu Elementary School in Fall River, Mass., was suspended Friday for carrying a BB gun to school in his backpack.
From NBC 10:
Superintendent Meg Mayo-Brown told the newspaper the first-grade student was suspended for one day. Students can be suspended up to nine days for such infractions. The decision to suspect the student for only one day was because the BB gun never made it out of the student’s backpack and there was no intent to harm anyone Mayo-Brown told the Herald News.
This is the second time this year a student at the Alfred Letourneau Elementary School has brought a BB gun to school and the fourth reported instance this year that a student in the Fall River School District has been charged in a BB-gun related incident according the Herald News.
