Sen. Richard Burr, Chairman of the Republican-controlled Senate Intelligence Committee, subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. and wants him to answer more questions on the Russia investigation:
SCOOP: Republican-led Senate Intel Committee subpoenas Donald Trump Jr. over Russia matters. First congressional subpoena – we know of – for one of President Trump's children https://t.co/f8jQhkewPd

According to reports, the subpoena was issued weeks ago and the two parties have been fighting over it behind the scenes:
The Senate Intelligence Committee issued its subpoena to Don Jr. **weeks ago**, prior to the fight over subpoenaing Don McGahn and the vote to hold Barr in contempt. https://t.co/i6mNHFAVka

President Trump, on his way back from a rally in Florida, didn’t answer a question on the matter:
WH pool: “Marine One landed on the South Lawn at 12:06 a.m.
“President Trump disembarked at 12:08 after popping his head into the cockpit. He waved and ignored questions on the Don Jr. subpoena and Venezuela.”

According to White House Chief of Staff Mike Mulvaney, the Trump administration was not notified before the subpoena was issued:
In this clip, available now, Mulvaney says he was not told before the news broke yesterday that the president’s son had been subpoenaed by the GOP-led Senate Intelligence Committee. https://t.co/dq2IxKmYGV pic.twitter.com/x882H1Zxya

Did Cocaine Mitch know it was happening?
News of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s subpoena to Don Jr. comes a day after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell declared the Russia investigation “case closed.” Trump Jr. spent nine hours w/Senate Intel in Dec. 2017.https://t.co/l774xbWWqU

Hey, Rep. Adam Schiff approves and wants in on some of this hot subpoena action:
The House Intelligence Committee may join the Senate Intelligence panel in issuing a subpoena to Donald Trump Jr., its chairman, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), tells MSNBC's "The Last Word With Lawrence O'Donnell" https://t.co/HTScOpMepL

And now Republicans are speaking out. Sen. Rand Paul:
Apparently the Republican chair of the Senate Intel Committee didn’t get the memo from the Majority Leader that this case was closed… https://t.co/jvV5PIX266
— Senator Rand Paul (@RandPaul) May 8, 2019
Rep. Kevin McCarthy:
.@DonaldJTrumpJr has already spent dozens of hours testifying in front of Congressional committees. Endless investigations—by either party—won't change the fact that there was NO collusion. It's time to move on. It’s time to focus on ISSUES, not investigations. https://t.co/fbFH5uMLUz
— Kevin McCarthy (@GOPLeader) May 8, 2019
Rep. Lee Zeldin:
Weak & ridiculous for Senate to perpetuate the Russia Collusion Delusion by continuing to harass @DonaldJTrumpJr. They should NOT be taking orders from unhinged resistance Dems. Let's work together to help POTUS move US forward. https://t.co/wSaHkEpqep
— Lee Zeldin (@RepLeeZeldin) May 9, 2019
A “source close to” Donald Trump Jr. called Sen. Burr a “so-called ‘Republican'” and that he’s “too cowardly to stand up to his boss Mark Warner and the rest of the resistance Democrats on the committee”:

Prediction? He won’t testify:
NEW: The Senate Intel Committee is at a standoff with Donald Trump Jr. after the committee subpoenaed him to testify again, and he's considering options that include invoking his Fifth Amendment rights or not appearing, w/ @KaraScannell @mkraju https://t.co/KpZ7whtjq0
