Delete your account, PETA, because this is just freaking wrong and disgusting (it’s a fake dog):
PETA supporters grill a dog on the streets of #Sydney, Australia to raise the question, “If you wouldn’t eat a dog, why eat a lamb?”
If you find these images disturbing, but you eat meat, think about your perception. pic.twitter.com/AUlYsDcdmm

Well, they have a point. We do remember a former president who once ate a dog:
We used this realistic-looking prop to highlight the dissonance of eating one kind of animal but not another. There is no difference between eating a dog and eating a pig.
— PETA (@peta) January 25, 2019
Lots of people were angry at the animal rights organization, but they fought back by comparing pet dogs to pet chickens and cows:
While humans typically consider dogs to be loyal companions, with personalities of their own, the sheep, chickens, pigs, and cows who are cut up into bite-sized pieces for human consumption are just as feeling and loving. #GoVegan
— PETA (@peta) January 26, 2019
And what they did was totally cool because it was a fake dog:
We used a prop, not a real dog. No one had to die for this demonstration.

The "dog" isn't real; it's a prop. If the idea of eating a dog repulses you, please extend that compassion to all other animals and go vegan.

Why not tell people sooner?
Should have said it was a prop in the original tweet, but then again, let's make the worst first impression, cos we're PETA. Yes, I support the prop, and the discussion it invites.

They also didn’t care that kids were freaked out by it:
Kids deserve the truth. Many parents bring their children to barbecues where whole pigs are roasted or to shops where Peking ducks hang in the windows. Please make the connection and go vegan ?

Let’s see if other supporters throw in the towel now:
Why the hell would you do that. That is no way to show awareness. I am ashamed to say I support you. Not anymore If you are capable of this.

That moment when @peta lost all credibility…

You win hearts through compassion and conversation, not this.
Promote the welfare of all animals but allow people the freedom of choice.
It's about the TREATMENT of animals foremost. Shut down mass produced meat productions, encourage free range
