REMINDER: Congress really doesn't care about election security and here's proof

The House Homeland Security Committee held a classified briefing on election security this morning:

Members have begun to trickle in for 8am classied briefing on election security. House Homeland Security Committee @RepMcCaul and @JimLangevin have arrived.

@FBI Director Chris Wray has arrived. Word is @ODNIgov Coats is already inside.

But it looks like the 8:00 a.m. start was a little too early for members of Congress:

Two minutes after the classified brief was set to start, it's safe to say the event is sparsely attended. Could still change though. And key players have shown up, like House Administration Committee chair @GreggHarper

And @SecNielsen has arrived.

I would estimate the number of House members in attendance to be less than 100. Others have shown up: @repgregwalden @RepSwalwell @JoaquinCastrotx @RepZoeLofgren @nikiinthehouse

That’s a lot of no-shows!

House currently has 428 members total with 7 vacancies. https://t.co/v2I23DTxrm

Congress really, really cares about election security, just not early in the morning?

today’s classified election security briefing invite was sent to all house members.

maybe the 8am start time was a bad idea? https://t.co/sQiWZcNR74

Update: It gets even worse:

Pretty poor showing at classified election security briefing for members of congress this morning. Attendees say perhaps 40-50 members showed up. Russian interference? ¯_(ツ)_/¯
