Police in Columbus, OH on Thursday released a compilation of dashcam, bodycam and surveillance footage of the arrest of an armed robbery suspect who was taken out by — wait for it — a grandfather leaving the library with his granddaughter.
According to the Columbus Division of Police, “Bill” was leaving the library when he saw the armed suspect running in his direction. Rather than move back inside to safety, Bill positioned himself in front of the fleeing man and then tripped him as he ran by, sending his Glock 9mm pistol flying:
Police were then able to easily make the arrest:
And the suspect’s weapon was recovered from the scene:
Cops actually credited Bill with saving the suspect’s life as they were seconds away from shooting the suspect after he failed to comply with their instructions:
From the Columbus Division of Police’s Facebook page:
And here’s the video of Bill in action:
Well done.
