Ted Cruz takes on Twitter over suspension of Chuck Nellis

Popular conservative Chuck Nellis was permanently banned by Twitter over the weekend, although it’s not clear why:

Nellis was suspended last month for doxxing, but his account was restored after he deleted the offending tweet. According to Nellis, he appealed the permanent ban 3 times with no response from Twitter:

Now this is where it gets interesting. Senator Ted Cruz jumped in, tweeting that “Twitter is not the speech police” and suggesting that Nellis was banned because of his political views:

Cruz retweeted this one as well:

Now, we get that Twitter is a private company and it can do whatever it wants, but shouldn’t there be a little more transparency? With Senator Cruz now involved, maybe Twitter will finally have to answer why Nellis was banned and we’ll get to see what’s up.
