The Sacramento Police Department is under fire after a video surfaced from Sunday’s clash between anti-fascist demonstrators and the white nationalist Traditionalist Worker Party that shows cops refusing to intervene as the anti-fascists physically assaulted the TWP supporters:
The guy in the green hat actually pleads with the officers to stop the mob as they drag him down at the end of the video:

It sure looks like a “stand down” order was given:

A man being verbally and physically assaulted by 2-3 people as police do nothing. What were orders given to police? https://t.co/F9vztoDlso

Don't care what you think about the message, this is the police allowing an assault. @PoliceLawProf @katz_oversight https://t.co/8jyVSQU8V5

Or imagine if it were white supremacists trying to shut down a Black Lives Matter rally. Would the cops have been ordered to act the same way? We highly doubt it.
The Sacramento Police Department released a statement on Sunday declaring that they’re “dedicated to insuring that all persons be able to exercise their constitutionally protected right to free speech.” Well, except for that guy asking for help in the video. He’s out of luck!
