And who is this new hire giving Matt Pearce of the Los Angeles Times the vapors?

Yes, Tom Gara, formerly with the WSJ, is a quality hire for BuzzFeed, but what did Pearce, Lowery, et al., think BuzzFeed was going to do with the $50 million investment from VC Andreessen Horowitz?

BuzzFeed’s valuation is now $850 million. The Los Angeles Times, which is but one of the properties owned by its parent company Tribune Publishing, is valued at only $480 million.

Rather than worry about no longer being able to make fun of BuzzFeed, maybe Pearce should send his resume over?
